I have no idea why Shadow of the Tomb Raider seems to be considered a disappointment, I just finished it today and I liked it just as much as the other two. Super consistent series imo

 

It's because it's just more of the same.

I just think those games never quite fulfilled their potential and kind of did so less and less with every entry. That's probably Square's fault though, they never really seemed to care. They are good games regardless though.

 

People were saying it’s going to be the GOTY unironically. It’s getting exactly the scores i thought it would. As in, it’s fine.

 

Needed more tombs imo

 

The problem with shadow of the tomb Raider is the god awful pacing and the stupid story. Just strip it back and make it more of a metroidvania and it’s actually good.
the moment to moment gameplay when the game lets you explore on your own is sublime imo

 

Also yeah more tombs those rock

 

I can't imagine why anyone would think it's a GOTY contender. I love the series, but they're serving their purpose of being fun and nothing more.
