Also I had a friend who was like "Destiny 2 sucks" and I was like "you don't even play a lot of games anymore and in no way stay up to date to an constantly changing game, so like don't act like you know what you're taking about" but they refuse to believe me because they played it a few times around launch and it was "bad".

Destiny is a game I always try out when it give shit away for free, and then I remember how little depth there is to any of it.

 

The wildest thing about the Destiny games is they both have these lush and detailed worlds but they feel so empty and hollow, you feel like a lone wanderer a lot of the time if you don’t play with other people.

 

The wildest thing about Destiny 2 is how I can’t stop playing it no matter what else there is out there in my backlog that I have to play and despite how clearly I see its flaws in addition to its strengths.

 

David Cage is a creep and Heavy Rain is one of the shittiest games I’ve ever played. It’s like twitter user GuyInYourMFA wrote a video game.

 

I’m glad I got to play Detroit for free and laugh at how *not good* it was. Because really, it was NOT good but I enjoyed playing it lol.

 

Cage is a creep, but I won't diminish the wonderful work from all the artists, programmers, actors and other staff by writing off Quantic Dream or just summing it all up as "David Cage sucks therefore everything about the games suck" which I've seen a lot of people do online.

 

This is true, the game (Detroit specifically) was really impressive in a lot of ways but the WRITING sucks and that’s all (or almost all) Cage so I’m ok saying it was bad game. But yes a lot of it was really well acted and designed and it’s a beautifully rendered world.

 

So you're calling it a bad game because the writing was bad, but the acting, design and rendering was great? The ratio seems flawed.

But that's fine, it's not like things with bad writing can be considered good games anyway *checks list* oh wait, we have Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Arkham City, Skyrim, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, most Tales Of games, etc.

 

That’s fair, I would just say the narrative is way more the focus of the game in Detroit than it is in most of those others.

 

I love the fuck outta the Metal Gear Solid series but it’s also a completely ridiculous story with equally ridiculous characters that people take seriously.
