It’s still wild to me that titanfall 2 was the best viewed game so far during SGDQ. I would have never expected that.

Please tell me your thoughts on Slay the Spire, I saw that you definitely like it. Could you compare it to anything?

It's tough to compare it to something, I have not played many card battling games like this (some hearthstone but thats about it). Runs kind of remind me of FTL where you have to try and strategically navigate branching random encounters that make up each act.

I like the relic system a lot. Last night I picked up one that lets you draw 2 additional cards each turn but makes your character confused, which randomizes the cost to play a card each time it's drawn, which has created a fun risk/reward aspect. The way relics interact with one another feels a lot like Binding of Isaac in how item synergies can change how you approach a run. Slay the Spire tells you what each relic does before picking it up though.

I wonder what the first big next-gen game is gonna be to push the new hardware, I know Halo Infinite is launching with Scarlett but I’m pretty sure it’s cross platform so hopefully that doesn’t hold it back.

the whole romero id software daikatana debacle blew my mind the first time i read up on it. i think it was the reason i got interested in game industry stories in the first place
