TFA seems to do a lot of what you'd expect from a new Star Wars movie whereas TLJ kind of does the opposite. I can see why it didn't work for people but the response from them was largely pathetic.

 

I just really don’t concern myself with the alleged quality of most (mainstream) pop culture. You either enjoy it or you don’t, shit is not that deep. And before anyone points out the obvious: video games are different because of gameplay imo.

But of course people can argue about whatever they want. I don’t care lol

 

I can enjoy in depth discussion about a lot of things and can talk about events in Star Wars etc etc because it's fun, I think where I have difficulty in arguing Star Wars quality is that I feel like a lot of people have nostalgia for things that just aren't what they thought they were because it was easier to overlook certain aspects of the series as a kid and they get up in arms about it in these new movies as if it's a new development haha.

 

Maybe it’s just the arrogant contintental somewhere deep inside of me lol

 

I like hearing what people like or dislike about things, and why, especially movies. Star Wars has been less fun recently due to how toxic some people have been but I've had fun/interesting conversations with friends who hate the movie.

 

This is really what it comes down to. I have no problem having a fun conversation with a friend where they talk about things they didn't like or whatever, but so many people get SO mad about a series like Star Wars and it blows my mind.

Think they’re just a hell of a lot more vocal about it than most fanbases.

 

I don't think so anymore, I think there are a LOT of very vocal fanbases out there and Star Wars is one of many at this point. It might be one of the longest standing out of those though.

I don't understand how one could lack the self-awareness to realize quoting someone and telling them what they posted about liking indeed sucks, will make them come off as highly unlikeable lol. I'm so self aware I don't even like arguing with someone to try to prove them wrong, it's just not conducive to good conversation what so ever.

I’m amazed people still act like TLJ was this horrible thing that ruined their lives. The movie is fine. AOTC is the worst SW movie by a mile and yes, I’ll be outside if you wanna fight about it.
