I read that review and it really lowered my expectations for Octopath, then I blew about 30 hours through it in one weekend and totally forgot the dumb shit he complained about.

Yeah. This kind of work he does is usually good, but he's also a known leaker, a notoriously terrible reviewer and kind of an egotistical asshat.

I'm playing it on Xbox One X myself as I imagine it will look better on that and I prefer the controller for that type of game but just so you know DLC is a timed exclusive for the PS4 by 30 days.

 

It's also ridiculous to think all the problems at Rockstar are exclusive to their studio. Some things, yes, but crunch happens a lot and there being no unions in the AAA industry is absurd. People are not to be worked to the bone. A game can wait.

I’m really loving AC Odyssey, but... is it just me or does the map have a weird scale? I’m not saying it’s too small overall because it’s huge, but everything (as in every hub or whatever) feels way to close to each other. It’s too dense. The sense of traveling feels way off to me. That wasn’t at all the case in Origins, or even Black Flag and 3 for that matter.

 

I remember listening to podcasts for halo 2 and 3 and you could tell how exhausted the Bungie employees were whenever they would come in to interview

 

I feel so bad for anyone who works on a sequel to a smash hit like Halo. You are expected to make a game that's even better than a genre/industry changing game and that stress must be insane. I can't fathom the shit developers have had to go through as their publishers keep adjusting milestones and wanting new demos and shit.

 

Neither am I, just know it has been a factor for some and why they have chosen to get it on PS4.

My excitement for RDR2 is next to zero and I don't know why. I loved the last game and i'm a sucker for any R* games, but I'm struggling to find anything that really gives me a buzz about RDR2 yet. Is it possible they've made it too realistic?

Maybe that will change once I play it. Who knows.
