Rumors of a Final Fantasy 8 remaster has me losing my shit

 

As someone who never played FF, every year I feel like I read about some reboot or remaster of one the 50 FF games in existence and it's always a huge deal or like, "the one." Which one is it guys? Surely some of them are superior than others no?

 

I have never been into JRPG's despite numerous attempts. So every time they remaster one I say: "Cool!" and move on!

 

Really hope the next BioShock is teased today.

 

7-9 are some of the best JRPGs ever made. It's a big deal

 

the ps1 era ff games are all stone cold classics so yeah people are gonna get excited about all of those

 

8 would be a big deal because it's like, the only one that has never been remastered / re-released in any meaningful way. There are rumors that they lost the codebase at some point, which would explain it.

I was pretty excited for Jedi Fallen Order but damn...it just looks like Video Game: The Game :/

 

Xbox for everyone except PS4

Chances of Starfield or ES6 gameplay at Bethesda??

 

I think we’ll see Starfield. Todd said he wouldn’t “talk” about it but I can see him being like surprise bitches

 

Hope 343 has some good things to say about Halo...

Battletoads will be first person
Session bought by EA, will now be titled Skate 4
Banjo won't be in Smash, just Kazooie
Ellie from the last of us will be the main character in the new elder scrolls
Greg Miller will slip on a banana mid reaction to Superman being announced exclusively for N-Gage
There will be a fight in the crowd during the Xbox conference
Super Mario Party 2 will be announced
Settlers of Catan on Switch is actually just the next Legend of Zelda

 

I definitely wasn’t knocking FF they’re up there in my eyes as one of the most major video game franchises ever. I just read a lot of hype about their remakes every time with zero context and wondered genuinely if all the games are really that good/interesting, or if there are a few that were the real staples and everything else is just blind love.

 

I have a 6 hour drive right now so getting home and seeing that giant bomb coverage sounds elite.

 

Don't forget the Syphon Filter HD remake.

For the most part, yes but it’s known that there is a new game being developed out there.

 

I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise(never understood why it's always been the biggest jrpg series in the west by far), but the love of 7-9 is definitely justified
