I’m still excited for Days Gone

 

I know this is a stupid question and I'm 99% sure I know the answer, but I'm planning to upgrade the hard drive in my PS4 and as long as I back up all the Saved Data and restore it on the new hard drive, any time I re-install a game in the future, whether from disc or re-downloading digital ones, I'll pick up right where I left off in said games, right?

Edit: So I guess with PS+ it automatically uploads your save data to cloud storage so that's pretty handy. Glad I forgot to cancel after the trial..lol.

I guess now it's just a matter of painstakingly re-installing any games I want to play...like this 50+GB Spider-Man file. Sweet..

 

I know RDR2 is gonna be great but it's weird how little hype I feel, I remember every new GTAV screenshot being a massive story in itself. Excited to play some Poker on Thursday at the very least.

 

The whole 100 hour work weeks thing kind of puts a bit of a damper on it for me personally

 

I wish it was an issue unique to Rockstar, idk how the industry should change to correct the issue but it needs to. "Expected overtime" is garbage

 

Yeah, I cancelled my pre-order. I know it ultimately won't matter, but I'm not supporting that kind of behavior.

And I know it's not unique to Rockstar, however, on Twitter former employees have said Rockstar has been the worst place they've seen it and experienced it and such so I mean, there's clearly something up with that company. Most companies do overtime and I know people who work in the industry, but 100 hours is insane.

 

The whole industry - from fans to developers - is kind of broken, so really it’s complicated

 

This industry and the anime industry are super fucked for workers and it's frustrating to see.

 

It's worth it in the end.

 

Yeah I'm gonna need to upgrade my hard drive ASAP, especially considering the space some games need

 

It was relatively painless, especially with the cloud save data. Only issue I had was getting it to take the firmware from the flash drive. Not sure if the problem was me not properly booting into safe mode initially or naming the actual flash drive “PS4” and it confusing the path to the fw file. Changed the name to “PS4 Update” and actually booted into safe mode and it worked like a champ.

I’ve only reinstalled Spider-Man and GoW so far. Not looking forward to waiting on RDR2 Friday, ha.

 

GoW is stupid huge with the Xbox One X update. So glad I don’t have an x lol

 

I don’t even wasn’t to think how large that update will be on RDR2

If you get yourself a 2.5" hard drive enclosure, you can transfer your hard drive contents to your SSD before installing it. Then you can use that original hard drive for additional external storage via USB, or for something else. You can pick an enclosure up for under $10.

tried playing thru Red Dead for the first time this weekend but spent a lot of time playing poker

 

What’s funny is while tearing our “office” apart looking for my screwdriver set to pull the hard drive out of the PS4 I actually found an old SSD I forgot about from my deceased MacBook. I’ll have to grab a new enclosure then I’ll definitely use that one for extended storage. Good call! Haha

I wanted to play the original before RD2 comes out but I was like forgot I’ll get lost in the game and never finish.

i love poker but too scared to play online lol and the red dead AI isn't as stupid as other poker AIs

 

my RDR experience, go to the smallest town with the lowest buy in, play a 2 hour poker game because I'm bad at poker, go all-in and lose, massacre entire town in anger
