I liked the first one and Rise a lot but I have no desire to play shadow

 

Damn that’s wild you haven’t played Pokémon! Very cool. Those games were everywhere in my elementary school, like goddamn roaches

 

Literally everyone was playing Pokemon when I was 6 lol. Even when I was a teenager there was still a good amount of us cool kids we were fucking lame still interested in it. Unless you're old as fuck (30+) I'm very surprised you haven't at least tried a Pokemon game

 

I played the fuck out of red in 4/5th grade, every other game I play like 30 percent of lol

In general maybe but when it comes to Pokémon it was around and I was aware of it, but I just wasn’t interested in that type of game at the time.

 

I haven't thought about Twisted Metal in a long time. Twisted Metal 2 was definitely a top ten game for me as a kid though.

 

Competitive play has waaaaay more depth than you would expect if you're unfamiliar with the series. This series is the one thing I've loved constantly the last 20 years. Loved it as a kid because the games were fun, love it now because competitive play is so addictive.

 

ive never played a second of competitive in my life and still adore the games. i just dig the collection aspect and shiny hunting

 

oh I still love everything thing else about the franchise, just don't think I would be as into it if it wasn't for competitive play

 

If those reports about the GRRM/From open world game are true, I am 100% ok with that game being partly responsible for us not getting The Winds of Winter yet lol

 

Their animation abilities are cool

 

I still haven’t played Shadow of the Tomb Raider, that’s a bummer to hear people dislike it

 

I don't think their animation is anything unique or special, but even setting that aside they just aren't good storytellers. It's not about Mario being some kind of "deep" property that needs to be treated with worshipful reverence, that's absurd and also purposefully missing the point. It's about simply wanting the movie to be good. I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed that a weak studio is making the movie. I don't think Illumination makes good movies (Despicable Me 1 was decent but that's really it).

I also don't want Nintendo to get burned again. We all remember what happened the last time Nintendo licensed Mario out for a movie, and the result led to them refusing to do it again for 26 years.

 

Look at gameplay videos and you will dislike it too

 

I loved it when it actually let me play and explore but there were way too many slow walking listening to someone speak segments.

Comp Pokémon totally makes sense

 

yeah comp pokemon is fun. the only part i dislike about it is how grindy it is to actually set up a team

 

Oh dude it’s intense. There’s even kind of emulators and browser “games” that are solely dedicated to it.
