On the subject of Mario, I've been playing through Bowser's Inside Story for the first time and it's super fun. Lowkey weird fetish: the game, but it's very charming.

You want to hear my Mario Odyssey hottake? Sure.

I think it’s a wildly inconsistent looking game with some amazing looking levels and some really boring ones. That said it’s fun as hell.

 

I think the only one that might come close to boring looking to me is the Snow Kingdom but I think that's more to do with how they designed the level with smaller sections. And I still don't think it looks bad by any means

sekiro is so good. def my goty so far. im kinda happy my saved file got corrupted now because im already past where i stopped and I’m actually a better player because I had to do everything again. I think that was why I was able to beat Genichiro with a few tries. def my favorite boss fight so far. it just feels fair and the camera doesn’t suck here.

a few thoughts:
- his damage is pretty weak so it’s easy to practice deflecting his attacks. i’d recommend doing that first and just play safe. once that clicks it’s easy to sneak some damage in (esp Ichimonji). i think i was able to deathblow him by destroying his posture with his vit still more than half
- his bow does ridiculous damage so just keep close to him so he almost never gets to use it. the only time i ever distance myself is healing and that bow attack should be easy to dodge with practice
- mikiri counter is pretty useful here, but man Ichimonji art is mvp imo. a well timed one damages his hp/posture and heals your posture which really puts pressure on him and makes this fight very quick
- firecracker is also great here. firecracker as he approaches, not when he’s already there but i don’t recommend doing it in the 1st 2 phases bec his moveset is really great for learning the game, plus you can use it to cheese his 3rd phase
- the 3rd phase is pretty much his normal moveset with 1-2 extra attacks in the end with lightning. but the previous tricks work here too.

don’t know if this helps anyone i just got too excited. most fun i’ve had in this game for sure.

took me a while to realize that i was actually thinking of the sidequest in Sekiro where someone was asking me to find rice
