I picked up Days Gone and I’ve been having a ton of fun with it.

 

I've not really made it that far. I've been busy exploring the wilderness and finding some interesting places. Do you know if it opens up a bit later? I've not long found Hot Springs

I haven’t played Days Gone, but I will say plenty of critics complain about what they call the “Ubisoft formula” in other games, including FC and AC. I have also seen some very valid criticism by a variety of female critics about the corny sexism in Days Gone, as well as other stuff.

That being said, it’s very hard for a big game to escape a narrative that, for whatever reason, has often already been built up around it even before people were able to play it. Group think is a problem.

 

Those games still got better reviews though. Not saying they don't deserve them, I've said many times that I enjoy the AC games a lot(most of them anyway).

Deacon is the absolute worst(I guess I'd only expect that of someone with that horrible name though) and it's very generic, but it's nowhere near as bad as those reviews are implying. If this game is bad because it's not original then most games are bad lol

 

Well yes but diminishing returns and fatigue are a thing. What was okay last year might not be okay this year and to add to that, I think we're also at a time were people are sick and tired of Zombies.

Also the game's padded length without any meaningful progression was also a point of contention with a lot of the reviews.

 

Days Gone’s Metascore is 72 though. Doesn’t that sound about right? Again, I haven’t played it, but the way a variety of people describe it, that seems right. As I’ve said before, getting a 7 is perfectly fine. It’s good even. More games should get one frankly.

 

I'd say it's a 7/10. It's got that score because reviews have given it 5/10 and 8/10 scores neither of which are accurate lol

 

Well yeah that’s why metsacores exist, to balance out all the nonsense lol

 

Red dead 2 has 97% on metacritic now that is nonsense

It’s far from a perfect system, I’m just saying that it suggests that Days Gone might not be getting as raw a deal as people are now pretending it does

 

DMC5 is so generic and has 89% lol it deserves the same as Days Gone

 

Golf Story has 78% too much water

Seriously I don't understand why DMC5 got better scores in 2019 than DMC4 in 2008. Just doesn't make sense at all lol

 

People are just happy Capcom still makes console games lol
