Yeah hot takes are opinions too. I’m saying we actually talked about stuff to each other, asked questions and received answers etc. lol

What actually derailed the thread was you guys acting like we were blindly hating on games and trolling, which wasn’t at all what was happening. So yeah, not on us this time.

 

Let’s talk about them then. You know why I didn’t get far in Persona 5? It’s boring. The characters are boring, the setting is boring, the story is boring, and so on. It fucking drags, like get on with it. Do you really need to spend this much time dragging our feet in this spirit castle? No.

 

Who the fuck likes FFXV

 

I know people who cosplay as those twits at cons frequently, they exist.

 

Oh boy when it released this thread like FFXV.

I got it on sale. I didn’t hate it. It also became too tedious for me to finish, I stopped after that first bigger city, but I did appreciate some of what it did and a lot of what it tried to do.

 

I thought it was ok and I thought I had a better opinion of it than most lol

 

My biggest complaint about FFXV was that it did so little to try and capture my interest in the world and about the characters. The world building is one of my favorite parts of those games and I tried so hard to like it but the world and characters were just not that interesting. It’s a shame, there’s cool ideas in it and hopefully the next one will expand on those ideas but with a better setting and characters.

 

The FFXV companion movie was cool though, got the Blu Ray with the deluxe edition

 

The execution of the worlwas too lifeless, I think.

I also would have preferred for them to fully lean into this weird vision of Americana that they started with at the gas station, but maybe that’s just me. I miss New Vegas.

 

Everybody very harshly blew off MK11 and its new microtransactions. Game has generally been slammed all week.

Guess what I’ve been doing? Smashing stuff in the Krypt for hours cause opinions don’t fuck with my fun.

 

Also the controlls felt like they were designed by a person that has never played a video game lol

 

I almost turned FFXV off after a few minutes of that awful voice acting lol

 

Also I remember seeing trailers for FFXV and thinking “Man that actually looks like a Final Fantasy game I would play” and it was for all the reasons I’ve seen that game get dragged for haha.

 

I just haven't really been in the mood for fighting games lately. Think MK11 being on Switch would make me more likely to play it, but physical copies aren't out on Switch in Europe until May 10th or something for some reason

 

Now that I really think about it, I don’t care much for JRPGs. I don’t hate them or anything, some of my favorite games are from that genre. I do find that many of them blend in with each other in terms of setting, characters, story, etc., and like FFXV, do little to capture my attention. Funny enough, this also applies to anime too. But anyway, I can see why people love that genre and there are truly great games from the genre, it’s just not for me.

 

My beef isn’t even really with RDR2 but rather with that complete lack of critical nuance in the reception of that game.

 

Days Gone has reminded me of how much I hated the stupid weapon wheel in RDR2
