But that's just another mistake that Microsoft made at the management level, which is that they should've offered a Kinect-free SKU from the beginning. The Xbox One didn't have to only retail for $500 at launch. At least it doesn't seem like they're afraid of different launch SKU's for the next one.

damn shame too because the xbox one ruled at launch. a lot of GREAT games.

I bought mine around the time Titanfall came out and only looked back once, when Bloodborne came out.

Microsoft already proved that you can have a more powerful console but that doesn’t mean shit if you don’t have the games to back it up.

Also, the Xbox One has actually done very, very well, including the S and the X by the way. For a long time it outsold the 360 year over year. It’s just the PS4 did insanely well. Comparing the two doesn’t nearly paint the whole picture, even though that’s what fans and the media constantly do.

The PS4 did well because it actually had games worth playing for it. Had Microsoft actually put in the effort to do the same, this would be a different conversation

It's all a failure of management at the time the console was being designed and released, as far as I'm concerned. It's very clear to me, based on everything that's happened since Phil Spencer took over, that if he had been in charge of the Xbox One since its inception things would be different right now. That dude is currently in the process of righting a ship that had been allowed to drift severely off course.

Yeah Phil Spencer has been a complete game changer at Microsoft. I’m a little ignorant as to the abilities of the PS4, but I have to think Microsoft has a little head start in terms of base abilities of the console (I.E. it can be a cable box/you can do pretty much anything you could possibly want on it already), so this generation they can focus more on the gaming aspect of the next console. Whereas I feel like PS4 had the headstart gaming wise, and has to find ways to better implement those other things on the PS5.

Personally I’m excited to see what they both come out with. I prefer Xbox but it’s always a fun time experiencing new generation release cycles. Very excited for a new Halo, Guardians was a let down for me

There is news about this game quite frequently in like Japanese magazines. If you follow sites like Nintendo Everything you’ll see it.

SMT is the only news that matters from Atlus.

And I don't care how powerful a console is because it's about interface, ease of use, and most importantly, games.

I know Microsoft bought a bunch of studios, but they've got way too much to prove in order to make me interested again.

I think Microsoft has a lot planned for the launch of this Xbox. I don’t think Halo (and more than likely Fable), will be the only interesting day one games that are announced. I have total faith in them with this one, and even as a die hard Xbox guy, I couldn’t say that leading up to the Xbox one

Phil Spencer is not just a great head of operations, he’s also a good person and has my full respect for that.

Doesn't change that they have a lot to prove. Sony's first party studios and such all have proven track records and veteran status. It's going to take a long time for Microsoft to build up that kind of calibur of studios.

I am interested in seeing what Ninja Theory does now after the success of Hellblade.

Was planning on just going with Sony and Nintendo in the next generation after owning all three this gen, but then Microsoft went and f****in bought Obsidian so ya got me Phil, ya got me.

Ninja Theory being snapped up by Microsoft hurts. I just don't see myself buying another Microsoft console (never say never). I do every generation and then just end up never using it and regretting it.
