If I could play PS1-PS4 games I'd probably pay $600 for a PS5. That'd be so fucking cool.

 

I'm so happy about BC. I assumed it would happen but I have so many ps4 games I haven't finished yet and I'm sick of having so many consoles.

 

If I can play Persona 3 on it I'll pay £1000

 

If the ps5 is a lot more powerful than the xbox one x why not make it 500

 

i am fine with a $500 PS5 but there is a zero percent chance i get it on launch because i have plenty left to play on PS4

 

this would be fantastic if the window were greater than 48 hours.

I have quietly loathed GStop before so Im surprised that this seems very reasonable and commendable. credit where credit is due.

 

The Xbox One X is sold at a loss and people think it’s too expensive. Expect the prices for these consoles to be high.

I think this likely has more to do with the perception many people probably have of the One X as an unnecessary minor upgrade. Like, people are more willing to accept a higher price point for "the next generation consoles" but not for something like that, even though it may merit the higher price.

 

Like I said, if it’s a machine I can use for 5+ years the purchase is a no brainer. Even at launch with BC being a thing

BC definitely makes me more likely to buy at launch. I hardly ever buy at launch, think the last one was the 3DS.

When Xbox One was first announced at E3 2013 to retail for $500, nobody batted an eye until Sony undercut them later that day. I think if the new consoles were announced to retail for $500 there wouldn't be a problem. Hell, even if they were both set at $600 I don't know that it would cause as much of an outcry in 2020 as it did in 2006. It's still way cheaper than a PC.

 

That’s not my point. The hardware that gives the One X more power than base mode is so expensive that the console is being sold at a loss despite a high price point. Therefore, a next gen console will be very expensive. The complaints part is secondary to what I’m trying to say, I just did not communicate it well. I do think many will complain still. They always do. PS3 launch is another example.

 

I don't remember any major outpouring of price complaints in 2013, at least not until Sony undercut Microsoft's price point by $100. As for the PS3 launch price:

I don't think the situations are very comparable when it's likely Sony and Microsoft will come in at basically the same price this time around.

 

The Last of Us 2 better still be on PS4...was going to marathon the two when it drops.

 

I’d honestly say 72 hours would be better, that’s practically a weekend to try it out and either keep it or take it back on Monday. Honestly, I’m surprised they haven’t tried this before.

 

The One X was pretty much marketed towards people who had extra bucks to throw towards a more powerful console, it was always gonna be a niche thing.

And I think people have a right to be but they should be mad at the people paying em pennies not the people selling consoles at good prices but that's a WHOLE other thing

 

The One X is a pretty strong upgrade btw. Plenty of games go from looking and running like shit to looking and running great. That’s also why it’s so expensive to make I guess.

 

I'll probably end up buying top tier Xbox day one. I'm a sucker for Halo and want it to blow my mind...

 

Will probably buy PS5 on release and Xbox One X around that time too so I can get rid of this other piece of trash

 

I will always have the latest and greatest Xbox. Playstation isn't as much as a priority for me, $500 isn't unreasonable though.
