Fair enough. It certainly gets out of hand sometimes and it’s not good that that discourages people from posting, but I also don’t see the point of a discussion board without people being able to disagree with what other people say about the topic at hand. For example, a negative opinion with some actual arguments behind it should be no less welcome than a positive opinion on a game, I think. Otherwise it just ends up being video game news posts followed by posts talking about how awesome that news is. That doesn’t sound fun to me either. At that point I might as well just read the a video game news site.

If you ask me, the problem really is that we argue about one single topic for too long, often because we at best misunderstand or worst purposely misrepresent each other’s opinions and arguments. How to fix that, I don’t know.

 

Whenever I think the thread is getting tense or going wildly in a direction that's just bizarre, I just take a step back and think about the important things...

Such as if Neopets were to rebrand itself and come out with a mobile iteration, what would it be like? Could I finally get enough neopoints or whatever to transmogrify my Neopet into a Jetsam?

 

What if Gigapets made a come back and everybody had 1080p handheld dogs attached to their keys that they feed every day.

Top Secret Toys LLC relaunched GigaPets on August 1st, 2018 after receiving the licensing rights from REHCO LLC. The virtual pets are made by the same manufacturer, programmers, and game designers from the 90s. Except this time they come with better animations and a free companion phone app that uses augmented reality to bring the pixel pet to life. You don’t actually need to use the phone app, and you can still feel the same nostalgia of owning a GigaPet with or without the companion phone app. Top Secret Toys, the toy company responsible for the relaunch of GigaPets, aims to renew the customer engagement and nostalgia through design contests that allow the winners to see their pet designs get manufactured and sold.
