You can't even do online matches in golf story, fucking amateur game

 

class design is homogenous and horribly boring, class balance is completely out of whack, everything there is to do outside of raiding and mythic dungeons is a tedious, boring, unengaging grind, leveling 1-110 is beyond fixing at this point, etc.

 

Once I realized the Heavensward expansion story was bad I just started skipping story scenes as I played

I don't recommend it but yeah it makes things a BIT faster hahaha

 

leveling is really bad too

 

I've found the leveling experience to be completely fine? I don't know when they merged the scaling of BC and Wrath areas but that has helped a lot since you really feel some of the clunkier quest design of BC now.

 

I skipped THE FUCK out of the FF XIV story, Henry Klein style

 

the scaling was a half measure that doesnt address the real problem. its a slog and the story is even more disjointed now that you can skip entire expansion sets, theres nothing even remotely engaging about it

 

It's weird how much praise I hear for the FFXIV story when it is only slightly less hokey than WoW's, it's presented in a much better way with actual cutscenes and whatnot, but it ain't great.

 

wow's overarching universe is my favorite in the entire fantasy setting. the specific stories, especially BFA, can be pretty fucking awful. legion was good but BFA is reallllly fucking terrible.

 

It just fascinates me when I hear things like WoW is horrible right now, i've heard that narrative in a few places.

So I'm towards the end of AC: Odyssey and here's my thoughts.

It didn't live up to the hype for me personally.
It started feeling really repetitive and there wasn't really anything that jumped out to me as special. Kinda felt like a been there done that the whole play through.

 

im gonna be real, you hear that narrative every single expansion no matter what, even during burning crusade that was a prevailing narrative. i however have only found it to be true in 3 expansion sets: cataclysm, warlords, and now BFA. BFA is almost as bad as warlords was but for different reasons. warlords was a complete lack of content, BFA has content but its not very good content.

 

I feel like I've only played WoW in the times that it was widely considered horrible, started in Cata, and did most of my serious raiding in that and WoD.

Played some of legion but I didn't quite get to the end-game for whatever reason. I guess I'm just willing to put up with a lot of bullshit for the raiding experience

 

Fucking WoD garrisons, yeesh that was dumb.

The level cap is 110?? Sorry for all the questions, I played WoW like fucking 14 years ago.

 

The ending of A Realm Reborn (like the final patch before HW) is the only part of the story that I was like "oh this is AWESOME"

Everything else was pretty meh, probably gets praise just because the graphics and scenery are above WoW's and the general FF story bias

 

raiders always have it fine because they put the most effort into raiding content. however, there's too many different difficulties of raids and there has been since mists. i get burnt out on raiding before i even hit heroic.
