According to a since-deleted tweet (that also happened to surface on the 1st of April...), Borderlands 3 is coming out September 13th, and will be an Epic Store exclusive. Randy Pitchford hasn't denied the exclusivity, but implied it might only be one for the first six months. I'm taking it all with a grain of salt, at least until tomorrow's official news. That said, I'm not crazy about the timed exclusivity aspect of the release, if true.

 

Finally figured out all the phases of Sekiro’s final boss last night but made a stupid mistake in the final phase and died. It was 1am so I had to go to bed. Will finish tonight.

I have to say I’m loving the exploration and the levels in this game, I wish the bosses wouldn’t stress me out so much.

 

That was such a cool fight. They’ve come a long way with regard to the “puzzle fights” since the Bed of Chaos lol

 

Haha well I didn’t love it but I do love the area it is in. Also his lines were super corny.

 

I would assume it would be an Epic Store exclusive on PC (i.e. not on Steam and the Windows Store), but still be on Xbox One and PS4 right away too.

 

That would make more sense, but Pitchford's tweet seemed to indicate otherwise, at least to me.

"As a customer, I’m happy to shop in different stores - already do! I’ve bought games from Xbox, Playstation, Switch, Steam, Origin, GOG, Humble, Uplay, Epic and other stores. To me, exclusives are fine when they come w/ advantages and when they are short – say, six months :)"

I don't think he'd have included the consoles if the Epic exclusivity was just for PC, and not across the board.

 

Maybe. But wow either that would mean Epic is putting a lot of money on the table, or that is a dumb move. OR it would basically be early access lol

Exclusivity has to be for PC only. I can't imagine they'd make consoles wait.

 

There's almost no way they're doing a held console launch as well, that would be actually insane.
