Dark Souls 2 is fan fiction. It feels like another developer making a Dark Souls game. Miyazaki’s absence is felt. The level design is weak. It’s fucking hideous. The difficulty is almost entirely based on fighting hoardes of enemies at once. It’s just not a good game.

 

I did not like DS3 at all tbh

 

DS2 had the best PVP and is therefore the best don’t @ me

 

It's just missing that Miyazaki touch since he wasn't director of the team on that one. There isn't as much shortcut porn, the progression of areas just feels a bit off, lifegems are kind of lame, little things here and there that add up

 

Yea that's a shame but it happens, DS3 is number 2 for me

 

I don’t care who made it, I thought it played better and PVP was better, that’s what I care about. DS1 is maybe a better game overall, but that’s as far as I’ll go.

Bloodborne > DS3 > Dark Souls > Sekiro > Demon's Souls > DS2

 

so my barber just talked games with me. important points:

- he pronounces Sekiro as “suh-key-row” and i’m p sure it’s “suck-eye-row”. lmk if he’s wrong so i can proper shame him
- he says DS3 is the worst one because it steered into the “Prepare to Die” branding too hard and stripped away prior tactics the player had grown used to being viable. let me know if he’s wrong so i can belittle him mercilessly

 

Ngl that sounds like a fancy way of saying the game's too hard for him but doesn't want to admit it

I think he’s kind of spot on about DS3 tbh. I thought it had a lot of unfair moments, which 1 and 2 did not have.

 

DS2 would be the worst in the series solely for Hollowing which is the worst mechanic in the history of video games

 

this does nothing but actively discredit that pronunciation

 

i have DS2, 3 and Bloodborne and have never so much as booted them up. one day.

 

A little trick to pronounce Japanese words is to pronounce vowels as if they were Spanish, usually works out

 

The i, r, and o are all silent and the k is pronounced with an s sound on the end of it.

 

The ONLY bullshit boss in DS3 is Aldrich imo, even the Giant while merely a showpiece I appreciated

Also Abyss Watchers, Pontiff Sulyvahn, Dancer, Lorian, Lothric are all top tier bosses in the series imo. There's more but those are the ones off the top of my head right now
