For the record, I'd like it more if it had a wildly different setting etc. lol because that stuff is corny

In terms of gameplay however few shooters have come close, especially third person

Also God Of war is fucking corny too in that regard don't even start

 

Idk I remember getting bored pretty fast and I was way more into shooters as a teenager

I'm probably gonna get lambasted for this now but since beating DMC5 on Devil Hunter I'm going back to complete it on Human and I gotta say that's a really good way to learn all the different moves and inputs. Because the game at that point is so easy that you can REALLY just focus on what attacks you're doing and what works/doesn't work for you. I say this as someone that loves constantly watching high level play but suck at it myself, so I know what I want to do but can't necessarily pull it off at this point.

Also preparing for Bloody Palace in a few days lol

 

Review scores in general are a bad critical tool and thats my only comment on the last 2 pages of discussion about review scores

 

Whats wrong with the combat tho!

Combat? Yes. Characters? No.

 

It's just boring combat, and I get that JRPGs dumb down the combat for story and all that but FF7 just feels too dumbed down IMO

 

PLEASE tell me how it differs from FF 4/5/6 and 9!!!!

 

More complex enemies in 6 and 9 (nice) that aren't as simple to just beat down as they are in 7, haven't played 4 or 5

 

I'm actually looking forward to going home and playing some FF7, i've played this game legit at least 25 times. Wtf dude.

 

Dude. 4 is good and all but seriously, 5 is amazing. You must play it. Job system. Nuff said.

 

At some point I'll play it, I want to

5 and 3 are next on my list right now for new plays

 

I'm gonna have to play 5 again, I never beat it. The final boss is fucking HARD. I think I didn't beat it. I may have. My memory sucks.
