I think Automata is almost BOTW-tier for me. that's a 10/100.

 

And that's why while reviews can be helpful in finding out certain information they're useless in terms of finding out how good a game is

 

The funny thing is you can replace GOW with either the 2005 or 2018 version and it would be correct.

 

I'd choose DQXI over "better" games any day

 

Subjectivity is a part of it but video game quality also isn’t completely unmeasurable/unquantifiable I’d say

Certain things are quantifiable I think? But I think there's a threshold once reached where everything's "close enough" that it can at least be seen how others find something enjoyable that you don't and vice versa

 

Old GOW have not aged well

 

But there's also things that just play egregiously bad which is worth noting

 

I know what I said.

 

A game can also have great artistic value and not actually be a good game imo at which point reviews and scores are useless

 

I'd rather play Harvest Moon constantly than all the AAA games I have no interest in lol

I love BOTW got indirectly brought up again

 

FF7 replay is actually going well and I'm liking it more than I remember. Actual combat is still crap but I'm more attached to the characters than I was in the past. (Still think Cloud is lame but the other party members are great.)

Golf Story is fun so far too. Pretty much the opposite aspects of what I said of FF7.

I love how Far Cry 5 has its deserved score in its title

 

I recently saw an article or something that The Simpsons predicted FarmVille when the kids played a gardening simulator and I was seething with anger lmao

 

Gears of War is amazing, true, but those years don't add up

 

Also I have a pretty good memory and we haven't had this conversation in a very long time, it's just that the examples keep bringing up are always the same for every argument lol
