This looks really cool

 

ok that’s it IM DONE I have school

 

At our apt we were able to load into 1 game. Ever since, it sticks me into a lobby that never gets to start because people keep dropping out and it never gets a full 40.

 

my wife def enjoys watching Sekiro more, as opposed to, you know, Picross, Into the Breach and MTG Arena

 

I’m there for the Army. We’re right next to their setup. We have a ton of esports teams we’re trying to fill ranks with.

 

Sekiro makes me feel like all my gaming experience and expertise has been for nothing.

 

Made some serious progress in Sekiro today. It feels like I'm getting close to the end, I think? But I might not even be half way

 

Sekiro being released reminded me that I dropped Bloodborne a while back after getting stuck on Shadow of Yharnam. Reinstalled it last night and beat them first try then beat Rom pretty quickly as well, feeling unstoppable

 

So seeing you nerds talk about these RPGs has got me wanting to dip my toes back into them a bit. Looking for recommendations. Idk if I’m into the graphic style of Sekiro, but I’m up for a challenge. I don’t have a huge amount of free time right now unfortunately, but in a few months I will start having some more time.

For reference, I think the last RPG style game I completed was GTAV (idk if that even really counts as RPG). I’m not into the slow pace of Red Dead at all, and I’ve tried to play the Witcher 3 and I think that might be juuuust a little too much of a learning curve for me getting back into them (the crafting in particular has me lost). I am familiar with Assassin’s Creed, so I’m trying to shake things up a bit seeing as the last few new ones I played of those I didn’t like as much as the old ones, and didn’t even complete them, and the games themselves are mainly just button mashing with not as much stealth anymore. I really didn’t like AC: Origins (though that was mainly due to the combat). Loved Black Flag and the naval combat. I played Skyrim back in the day but the pace of that felt slow like RDR and I never got back into it. I loved Farcry: Primal but unfortunately had to work a lot and got lost when I came back and couldn’t get back in the swing of things. As you can probably tell, I am into stealth games, but I am open to mixing it up.

I’m on Xbox, which I think eliminates some of the favorites in here. I’m not against Sekiro, but I don’t want to drop $60 on a game that might be too hard.

I have thought about Dark Souls because that’s the most common one mentioned in here, but beyond that I’m really not sure where to look based on my tastes haha. Any help would be appreciated!

I am willing to try things in categories that I said I’m not a fan of too, but I wanted to give out as much info as possible.

 

DMC 5 has been really boring so far... I'm genuinely surprised it's received so many great reviews

DMC5 is—and I can’t stress this enough—GOTY

 

Go Dark Souls 3 maybe? Probably a little easier to get into the first and looks better. Should be able to get it pretty cheap too.

 

Have you played Metal Gear Solid 5? It’s an incredible stealth game, fast paced, and accessible to series newcomers.

 

I could imagine someone thinking DMC5 is GOTY if this were 2010

 

Why though? The combat is underwhelming, the story/dialogue is embarrassing, and I don't think the graphics are as good as some are saying. Also, we're only 3 months into the year lol

 

Not to mention you could probably finish the game blindfolded with the two difficulties available at the start

 

I disagree about the combat, I think it’s up there with Bayonetta 2 for the best combat system I’ve ever played. The amount of options Dante has is utterly insane, and I love Nero’s devil breaker system. Everything feels so fine tuned and smooth. The story is definitely stupid, the series always has been, but at least it feels self-aware this time. I just like it! It’s a series I’ve always loved and I think this is the best entry.

 

I disagree—it’s definitely easier than 4 and especially 3, but it’s still more complex and difficult on Devil Hunter than 90% of AAA games

 

One of the three main characters of Devil May Cry 5 has a button dedicated to pulling out a book and dramatically reciting William Blake poems and if you don’t think that’s the greatest shit ever than this game is not for you

 

Playing as V was horrible though, combat was awful

And their was zero challenge on Devil Hunter

 

Bump up the difficulty!

 

You can't until you beat the game, that's my main problem with it

 

You beat it right? Up the ante if so.

 

I beat it yes, but I don't want to play a game again that I only thought was decent just to see what I should have been able to play from the start. I dread to think just how easy Human mode is.
