I'm fairly sure it's been leaked that it's coming soon. How soon is a different question mind, but people are fairly convinced that it's coming.

 

Well they managed to make the announcement of the PS4 Pro look good...oof

 

I've already forgotten what all of those VR games were called lol

 

Wow, I’m mad I turned off something I was actually enjoying to waste 20 minutes on that. Can confidently say I will not purchase any of that.

With the new consoles coming next year, Sony's whole E3 conference probably would've been just like that. They were smart to back out of doing it. Having some bad directs is way less harmful to the brand than having another 2012-level E3 flop.

 

Yeah I'm not interested in any of those games. I definitely thought that was Square's Avengers game at the start, that was a bit of a bait and switch. Still want to know what Bluepoint is working on. Cool that they're showcasing what the smaller Sony first parties are doing but I wish Sony would give us something on TLOU2, Death Stranding, and Ghosts of Tsushima already.

 

Yeah I'd prefer sony show off Concrete Genie and Blood & Truth in a 20 minute YouTube video instead of on stage at E3

 

I'm convinced we're never going to see Square's Avengers game at this point.

 

They could have shown some Ghost of Tsushima and made that 1000 times better. Like they have some already announced games are way more interesting than any of that lol.

 

Yeah I’m not mad that they’re showing small things off, or that they’re pushing VR, but if they want me to continually tune in to these, I need to know there’s gonna be something exciting almost every time like Nintendo does with their Directs

 

Okay, but honestly, VR is awesome and the hate is completely unjustified.

However, they should have just made this one a VR special and let people know that ahead of time. That would have be a smarter choice.

Otherwise, all the non-VR stuff was incredibly underwhelming.

 

Alright I'm actually quite happy that Sony is keeping up with VR stuff even if I don't have PSVR, VR is absolutely worth investing in and building on even if most gamers now are gonna whine about it.

And that State of Play to me was never advertised as something that was gonna be huge, I think people hyped themselves up on that and have to take part of the L.

Also come on now don't tell me Vince coming in on that Mortal Kombat trailer wasn't hype though

 

The early Nintendo Directs sucked too. It took Nintendo a while to figure out how to pace them and when to have them, I figure Sony will get better at it just like Nintendo did. That wasn't a great start, but I doubt they'll all be like that in the future

 

I think this would have been fine if it wasn’t what they were launching State of Play with

 

Yeah, the first couple Nintendo E3 Directs weren’t that great

 

Why? It makes so much more sense to start small, see what people like and don't like then to have a format that may not work and try to announce a bunch of big things poorly.

I also think somewhere along the way people just assumed this was supposed to replace E3. That's not true at all. It's supposed to give people a little bit of information every now and then so we at least aren't getting radio silence all the time.

 

I personally think the presentations across the board have gone downhill over the past couple of years but SONY/PlayStation even moreso.

 

VR is cool but like someone said they definitely could have warned people
