  1. Oh man this thread moves so fast.

Does the camera always move so much in fighting games? I almost got dizzy just watching that.

I'm not good at them, but MK9 and the first Injustice had interesting stories.

I mean it’s been 1 day bro. Let it soak a little. I haven’t played yet, but all the reviews make it seem to be at least a good game if not Bloodborne level.

I’m willing to admit I’ll love it after I “get gud” (or preferably, a patch) but I recommend you try it. It’s a different level, I promise.

Oh the way Anthony was talking about the death repercussions system defffff has me skeptical. Though all my trusted reviewers who’ve completed it are in love. Either way I’m excited to take part in the conversation when I play in hopefully 3 hours.

Most reviews I have read say around 50 hours to completion.

this sounds fucking awful btw, I just went back because I realized I missed this explanation. that’s just baffling game design whether you’re trying to make a game for the hardcore crowd or not. there’s challenging and then there’s just being cruel to the player

not that it makes any difference for me since I’ll be working on bloodborne for at least three years and don’t plan on touching any other from games until I know I can beat at least one

I’m still incredibly early in but I haven’t ran into any of those problems with Sekiro other than it’s kicking my ass but not in an unfair way. I’m loving it so far.

Advance Wars is a really fun game so far. Paper Mario Color Splash is underrated, although the gamepad use brings it down. Saints Row 2 is fine. I gave up on Morrowind because I didn't want to read that much and didn't know where to go. Fallout 3 fixes all of those things, even if an entire town started shooting at me for killing a guy who killed the sheriff. The last game I finished was Metal Gear Solid, which was great in many ways even if the ending doesn't really make sense.

I don’t think this is true, I’m advancing just fine. at least it feels that way.

I loved Bloodbourne, but still feel like I’ll be terrible at the actual Souls games

Just finished What Remains of Edith Finch.

Had no clue what to expect going in, just that I was interested and it seemed like my kind of game.

Holy shit was that amazing. Seriously everything about it was absolutely perfect

    Anybody else played it?

It's true. I died ~5 times, I never used the resurrection mechanic, I got a rot essence.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

thanks for the reminder. been meaning to check this out.

Sekiro is super fun. love how stylish it is. jumping around and stealth killing opponents is def my thing, and i feel like the perilous attacks are more forgiving. faring better here than dark souls and bloodborne

I mean, I loved DS1 and 2 and I like challenging Mario levels and so on. I just don't like the way most games handle difficulty. Also I now mostly play because something is technically satisfying and has a nice flow, so I have very little interest in banging my head against the wall. To each his own of course.

oh my god, I'm back on my bullshit Prestigious

As much as I love DS/BB I don't like it when other games make me overly frustrated either, like I don't want to do something 100 times in other games. But I also don't like it when I can just breeze through a game without even trying. Normal difficulty in some games gets the balance right(first games that came to my mind were that last two AC games) but games like DMC5 have got it all wrong and being stuck on normal difficulty and having zero challenge is hindering my enjoyment of it.

AC is a great example of a game that I put on easy. I like the stealth and I try my best at it, but I also don't want to deal with all the hassle that would come with me messing up, so I put it on easy these days. Mechanically it doesn't make a difference really, but it makes messing up less time consuming. I get that that doesn't work for some people, because they need higher stakes to not just mash their way through, but I really don't.

Also yeah DS1 and 2 aren't unfair, whereas most hard modes kinda are.

I would say that the case with all the games mentioned is that it’s just a matter of getting to know the mechanics of the game and yes, some games have a very steep learning curve and it all boils down into how much time you are willing to invest in it.

I didn’t even realize AC had a difficultly setting. Those are games I find extremely easy. But nice to know!
