That’s the first I’ve heard of that: getting a code to unlock a harder difficulty. But hey, stranger things have happened!

 

Personally like having a challenge. If you can just beat a game without a challenge it takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.

 

Agreed, especially being a bit of a completionist. I feel like it really pushes me to get better at the game.

 

If you can just button mash your way through a game it's particularly boring to me

I've played the shit out of Dark Souls, Bloodborne is probably my favorite game of all time but Sekiro is just a fucking slog right now. The penalty for death is too severe in a game where you're supposed to die to learn a boss's moves. The constant "here's a ton of little enemies and now a severely overpowered mini boss" is so tedious. I've played for like 7 hours today and still haven't reached an actual boss

I'm frustrated and I might end up loving it, but this just isn't fun right now. The leveling up system is trash

 

easy mode can be challenging for me please don’t shame me

I might try bloodborne, I used to be able to play shit on hard no problem but now games are my way of relaxing, dying over and over and getting frustrated isn’t very relaxing for me.

You're not supposed to beat up boxes I've found where you were going wrong

 

I gave bloodborne a real try when it was free on ps+ and I definitely see the appeal. Learning that whole first area and running through it and opening up shortcuts and stuff was really fun. But I got to like the third boss and could NOT beat it and walked away and will probably never touch it again lol.

 

If I suck I can always just go back to playing the Witcher 3 on just the story even though I’m at least 10 levels higher than every mob in the game

 

When I was growing up I’d constantly play games get stuck and give up never to touch it again, so bloodborne will tap into some nostalgia for me

 

It's a fantastic game, easily top 5 this gen for me, it's just very frustrating early on(especially if you haven't played any Dark Souls). But once you get it, it becomes an amazing experience and is very rewarding. You might as well give it a try, it might end up being your favourite game like it is for some people in here.

 

IGN gave Sekiro a 9.5

I think it’s really cool how there is a stealth element to it. I’m definitely more interested now.

 

Like I said I’m not completely hopeless, it’s just that in the last six months I’ve used games as my outlet for when I like, get off a 12 hour shift and just wanna chill and have fun, engage in some cool narratives and shit, but I’m down to challenge myself a bit

 

Bloodborne is so god damn good

 

I played it on PS4 and I honestly felt I needed a flight stick over the controller, it made landing really goddamn hard.

 

Bloodborne is amazing. Incredible story/environment, challenging but fair
