    well at the end of the day, the effect is the same. seems like people aren't as sensitive to input lag like I am and good for them.

    I do not agree with how one of the death penalties has been implemented but other than that, 3 hours in, it's really good. Tough as hell, but really good.

    You're comparing one game to all games and that's just not how that works. The amount of input lag for each game can drastically change how/whether you can play it. A rhythm game for instance would be unplayable with the same kind of input lag. We don't know how Stadia will operate once it's launched and out of beta. I'm sure Google has put enough money and R&D into making sure it's as smooth a transition as possible, but until we see it, we won't know.

    No I'm totally fine with that.

    Turns out Dragonrot (a disease that can affect all of the game's NPCs, can close off dialogue options and side quest lines, and can only be removed by an item that there is a finite amount of in the game) can set in for the NPCs whether you resurrect yourself or not. Going into the game, I thought that the Dragonrot disease only starts to build up if you abuse the resurrection system. Like, creating a choice where you can either sacrifice half of your stuff and respawn at an idol OR get another shot at the boss at the risk of harming the NPCs and closing off questlines. Instead, it builds up when you die no matter whether you resurrect or not. I died like five times to one of the early mini-bosses and got an item that gave the Dragonrot to the sculptor, so now he's coughing and wheezing and I can't talk to him about anything other than the fact that he's sick. I don't like that.

    Yeah, I mean in a game from a developer where the whole process of playing through the game involves beating your head against the wall with each boss and dying and learning from your mistakes, this is a really weird design decision that punishes players way too harshly, in my opinion. Especially because it closes off side missions and dialogue options. Also, what's even the drawback of just abusing the resurrection system? If you're going to get the rot anyway, may as well use it whenever you can.

    Yeah, like, my plan was to just never resurrect myself, because I'd rather grind for the lost money and experience points than close off side quests, but now idk what to do. I guess I'll just always try to resurrect when I can.

    I'm sure that's hard, but I'm playing the harder of the two that were available at the start and it's easy

    interesting. I thought (and read) that the mechanic worked the way you originally thought too, that it only happens when you resurrect. this'll be interesting for sure haha

    Yeah, like I said I didn't resurrect once and I got my first rot essence item after about five deaths. I was stunned.

    I think what he means is that a lot of games can be tweaked in a way that reduces the effect of input lag and people would be fine it. Games like Assasin’s Creed and so on.

    • Hell and Hell = You die in 1 hit. Checkpoints are disabled. Only 3 revives per mission. Enemies are based on Son of Sparda (400% health, same attack speed and enemy spawns as Son of Sparda).
    Lol I know I wanted it to be harder...
