Precisely. And the issue is that it just shifts the focus of games to completing mindless tasks like dancing on mountains, or quitting when it’s not possible.

  2. People can play devil's advocate but because the conversation irked people I can't bring it up again? Got it. Sorry, guess I'm not a genius.

oof those challenges sound annoying, maybe it's good I quit after season 3 so I'll always remember Fortnite fondly.

Nah, screw that. You’re free to put your input in. One person doesn’t get to dictate when a conversation ends in a discussion because he got called out and can’t handle it.

I played fortnite exclusively until the cube stuff I believe, that was such a letdown though and now the game is really just bad all around. They have no plan at all and its embarrassing. Hasn’t been very fun at all for months unfortunately

  8. I was being sarcastic, but thanks.

That's condescending. Why isn't he calling you out?

Okay buddy. Because you’re insistent, I’ll bite.

Your initial point above about a foreigner coming to Japan, bringing weed and getting banned from visiting was what I took task with, in that it’s completely illogical to defend that. Simple as. It had absolutely nothing to do with defending the country’s seemingly cutthroat and admittedly archaic responses to drugs. Ruining its citizen’s lives over any drug usage isn’t defensible and I’m not sure why you’re both trying to twist my words. I brought up the fact the country has been that way for years because I would assume anybody coming to the country with drugs would acknowledge its current stance on drugs and maybe use caution. I never said it’s fine that their laws are as stringent as they are.

If a foreigner comes to any country with drugs, whether it’s weed, heroin or donkey arse powder, they should fully expect trouble. It’s downright arrogant, entitled and naive to think you’re somehow above the law (or maybe even a revolutionary, seeing as some here are suggesting this is how we make progress - by forcing the issue in a country we’re not a native of) of any foreign country because you fancy a quick joint and are allowed to in your home country.

I don’t even know the full story regarding the games dev/actor - it sounded entirely unreasonable. I didn’t disagree with that, but I also didn’t reference that in what I was saying in the slightest. So if that’s why you both decided to descend on me then maybe dial it back - you’re arguing the toss over something I never disputed.

The whole argument stemmed from you saying someone went to Japan with weed and got banned from visiting again. Which seems highly improbable anyway, as I can’t imagine many places let you fly with weed to begin with. But again, it should come as no surprise that they didn’t take kindly to it and banned them. I imagine if I turn up stateside with drugs, most states wouldn’t high-five me on my way in.

I am not dictating any conversation - it wasn’t a productive conversation and I was attempting to use my initiative, be mature and not draw it out. The user who interjected much later with input that didn’t contribute to the conversation, despite claiming otherwise, was stirring the pot and had literally nothing new to add to the conversation. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

And just so we’re clear, telling people not to play devil’s advocate is exactly what you’re accusing me of - dictating conversation. If nobody can dispute your point without being piled on or accused of being a dictator then calling this place a ‘forum’ or referring to this as a ‘discussion’ is redundant.

So by all means - gO oFf I gUeSs or whatever overused holier than thou phrase you’d like to insert next. Maybe it’ll be something to do with dying on hills, or maybe it’ll begin with ‘Imagine...’.

I was asleep, and Now, Now Every Children were what the band my username references used to call themselves. I actually read it as a reference to that, but either way it was lighthearted and clearly an attempt at humour in an awkward situation.

  15. You're still taking me seriously? Okay, let's take this seriously. This isn't about dictating the conversation. There's a difference between "don't be a dick" and "don't call out my being a dick."

Fortnite is so big that it doesn’t have just one target group. A lot of FN players will definitely play Apex.

Just because you think I’m a dick for raising a counter argument doesn’t make me a dick. It’s conversation. I’m sorry you think alternative opinions to yours aren’t valid I guess? If everybody went around calling anybody with a differing opinion a dick then there’d be no point in talking at all.

Also, nice one on editing your posts on the previous page to make yourself look better.

I played some Fortnite early on and thought the shooting was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t believe it was by the same developer that once made Gears. It of course could be better now, but I also don’t care.

I was more referring to the subsection of their fan base that take to reddit and demand game-breaking changes on a whim, which Epic tend to bow to. I don’t like the idea that these people might try the same with Apex.

Thankfully they seem pretty set on following their own path. Otherwise we’d have gotten a half-baked battle pass and a load of ridiculous nerfs by now.

Is anybody actually getting Sekiro? I’m tempted because I loved Bloodborne, but I’m a little hesitant. I got Bloodborne for free on PS+, and while I enjoyed it, many aspects of the gameplay seemed pretty dated...but that makes sense given it was 2/3 years old at that point. Wondering if it’ll be worth getting this on release.

That’s not age you felt, that’s how they make games. If it felt off to you you’re probably better of waiting for a sale.
