I mean I’m saying all this and I don’t watch streamers or twitch anyway - my knowledge of him comes almost primarily from memes and cringe compilations. Just hoping his audience don’t influence Apex. With Fortnite the devs constantly try to appease every complaint on reddit and drastically change gunplay on a whim. Or at least that was how it was during the first 4 seasons. I can’t speak for it now because I got fed up of the game after that.

 

Fortnite is even worse for that now. It's what me stop playing a couple of weeks ago. They cater the game entirely to the minority, if a streamer complains about something it changes instantly. The game has no room to breathe, it's just constantly changing. They built a whole season around planes, yet a couple of streamers bitched so they vaulted them. It's a joke.

 

Yikes. And to think I was put off by the shopping carts. Hearing there were planes just made me laugh. I used to joke about there being planes and jet packs eventually. The only thing I’ll commend them on was that whole meteorite debacle during one of the earlier seasons...until it meant the introduction of floaty gravity rock bollocks.

 

I have no beef in this conversation--especially since I only skimmed it--but, generally speaking, if you feel the need to play devil's advocate in any situation, chances you're probably gonna end up being seen as a dick in said situation, so maybe just don't.

 

I honestly don’t know why you guys are hating on Fortnite. I’m a little over it but when I played I thought it was dope as hell. (Apex is more my jam though)

 

I don't like BR games it general(just not my thing) but the popularity of Fortnite just baffles me. Looks like a bad PS2. Apex looks a million times better

 

Jesus Christ it was over with, so while I appreciate your input - can you not needlessly rehash arguments for the sake of it?

 

Fortnite is gorgeous I think. especially with the grass and the lighting. real impressive. and all that at 60fps.

 

I think Fortnite’s aesthetic has definitely improved, but that style just isn’t for me. It runs like silk though. Anyway, Apex is a far prettier game that appeals to me more. Though it did remind me of Blackout. Like Borderlands meets Blackout.

Fortnite was never for me. Don't like the building or how it feels to shoot.

That said, I don't care if others enjoy it. To each their own.

 

The gunplay was initially pretty enjoyable for me. The building ruined it though. Shooting someone only for them to build a palace instead of engaging just draws out every fight.

 

Don't get me wrong, I played Fortnite a whole lot. Literally two hours every night for the last year, up till January. I'm not a hater, per se. I just think they cave to streamers too much. The game is just constantly changing, and it doesn't seem that there's any plan behind it all. They throw stuff at the wall, see what sticks, then decide to peel it off and go again the week after anyway.

The weekly challenges stopped adding fun to the game and started to become a chore too, but even then it was the changes that put me off the game. I felt like it was impossible to load the game up after a few days of not playing without having an in depth look at the latest patch notes first to see what they'd broken this time.

 

My god those challenges. And they weren’t even fun half of the time. Just crowded tiny areas lacking loot and destroyed the pacing of the round.

i used to watch ninja back in the day when he was a pro in halo reach. used to love esports FPS but i cringe thinking how toxic it was and i just ignored it

 

You opened by saying you don’t have beef and then left with some condescending comment that would clearly start it back up. I find it hard to believe you weren’t aware of that. It was a conversation that was done with a few pages back that clearly rattled cages. It’s just not all that tactful or necessary to bring it back up. It accomplishes nothing. And if you’re pulling the ‘discussion board’ card like I did, saying people can’t play devil’s advocate and attempt to see both sides of an issue directly contradicts that.

 

Something about twitch just doesn’t click with me. It feels like a jarring format. I can watch letsplays on YouTube forever, but when it’s live and there’s people sending money over, it takes me out of it and hampers my enjoyment. I get the fan interaction aspect though. Just not my cup of tea.

 

So if I'm not on when something happens I can't talk about it?

Yep. And if you didn't get them done on the first day, well fuck you. My group landed Haunted every game for most of the season as one of us still needed a couple of kills there. No fucker ever dropped there after the challenge week.

Then the stages ones, that's what turned me off. The fact that you couldn't do numerous stages on one game. So before a challenge would take one game - now it takes five. Total bullshit just to artificially increase the difficulty. Instead of putting more thought into challenges, Epic just decided to make you do a variation on the same thing numerous times for no reason.

 

That’s quite obviously not what I’m saying at all. It doesn’t take a genius to see that the conversation wasn’t productive and irked people.
