What DO you like about the games then?

 

Also, someone give me reasons to play Horizon. How long until the game picks up the pace? Is there a lot of that dumb stealth stuff?

Sometimes people like getting other people's opinions to see why they enjoy it and I like trying new things. I just want to see if it will be worth it for me to stick with it. Maybe it opens up and there's cool story stuff or better mechanics later in the game

 

I only played the intro as the kid and then a few hours in, nothing major happened in terms of story

 

Lol I only played the intro too. Got to where you get into a new area and just decided I was done. I wasn’t feeling it at alllll.

 

It just felt like one of those "go capture the tower, discover new area, do side missions, go capture another tower, discover new area, rinse and repeat" type games.

But there has to be something I'm missing because everyone seems to adore it.

 

I almost put it down after the first handful of hours. But once it opened up and you get some side quests + start exploring I really got into it. I also played it like a hack and slash and died a lot but I had fun

 

I think I'll give it another go once I beat DQ XI S on Switch and a few other games I'm playing.

 

Man, I want to touch on this because this is something Microsoft does that bugs me. They spend so much time hyping their brand as THE gaming app, that it’s honestly lame.

I’m so, so excited for Demon‘s Souls. It’s making me want to maybe try one of the other DS games. But Bloodborne is like my barrier for entry. Adored it. Adored the aesthetic, the monsters, the setting. Unreal how almost tailored to me it felt. Minus the menus and story - but I never had a clue what was going on with that.

Tried Sekiro and my god could I not get into it. It was absolutely infuriating to me. I never got past the one boss with a spear so I escaped and got to the drunk boss and couldn’t beat them either. Like with BB I was hooked enough to want to keep fighting, no matter how difficult some encounters were. Sekiro didn’t inspire that in me at all.

So with all that in mind...what would you say the best DS game for me is, given how obsessed with BB I was? I saw footage of one a while back and it looked super clunky and it put me off.

 

Try 3. 3 is pretty smooth

Why didn’t they mention a price? Are Microsoft and Sony actually playing chicken? Or are they just afraid of telling people because it’s so high?

Ooo, if that's the case, I'll eat it all up. Buy one of each and then force my friend to take one of my hands so I FINALLY have a friend who plays a current consoles with the same ecosystem as me.

I think all of them are great, and 3 is my fave From Software game not called Bloodborne.

 

The story/lore for horizon is tight and it’s fun hunting robo dinos. That’s my sales pitch.
