I am actually 100% sure you can put the console down horizontally as it is prominently featuring a stand in these images, which Sony will charge extra for, as always.

 

so weird to see the negativity, I thought every game outside of Volcano High looked fantastic lol

will it come off the stand? the curves also make it look like it won't necessarily be fully supported horizontally

that being said, I feel like it would be a monumentally idiotic blunder for it to not be supported horizontally. lots of people have tv case setups that don't really have room for a vertical console. Wonder if there will be a horizontal stand they just haven't shown off or something.
