I wasn't referencing how much you wanted to pay for it, just that you seem borderline clueless as to how the game even works to complain about the occasional change of character for narrative reasons. It's an open world spider-man game, I've probably dumped 15 hours into swinging around and exploring and maybe 20 minutes into story missions that forced me into the shoes of another character.

  2. ok. the playing as other characters stuff wasn't actually a major reason. i'm very sorry for not educating myself properly and making an ignorant and superficial comment in this thread

It’s probably at least twice as long if you don’t mainline it, which you shouldn’t because really the game is about navigating in the world. That being said I wait for sales on a lot of games, I get it (even if it is bad for the industry).

I think it's about time we got to play as Peter Parker, even Mary Jane, as part of an immersive story. I completed God of War in about 20 hours, not the side missions, and I'm pretty sure HZD was the same, too. It's the way it is now with most games and as gutting as it is; I'm not going to let it take away from my experience.

That said, this Spider-Man game really feels like Spider-Man. I'm happy for it, I can always see why people don't want to pay full price but it was a no-brainer for me.

I've played about 15 games of Blackout on COD. I absolutely love it. I've had moments with my friends where we had to get the fuck outta Dodge and we all jump into a helicopter and flee then preceded to win the whole game. I don't see how video games can get much more fun than this.

Time played does not equal the value of the experience.

Nah, I definitely agree on that. I just get attached to gaming worlds and wish sometimes the story can be longer.

I’m having such a hard time picking between DQXI and Spider-Man. I feel like I could just watch Spider-Man on YouTube?

I'd say Spider Man is more about gamefeel than DQ

Watching the game of YT will probably make you just want to play, to be honest. If the game was just crime-stopping and city-slinging then i'd still be happy with it.

Has anyone played DQXI? Is it as great as the Kotaku review makes it out to be?

I'd also like to know this. I have never played a DQ game and this looks fantastic.

I've literally spent hours in Spiderman just swinging around, fighting crime and exploring the city. They did an absolutely incredible job recreating NYC.

I've played a few hours and it's fine so far. I heard it doesn't really get going until like 5-10 hours in, so I'll let you know.

Really rather enjoying Shadow of the Tomb Raider, not much seems to have changed gameplay wise but I am only an hour and a half through it so that could change.

Read this, thought the game came out on Friday. Went to buy it and saw that you could play it now if you pay extra for the Deluxe edition for $10. Honestly sometimes I would pay 10 more dollars to play early, but that's a bit fucked up. I'll wait the 2 days in order to say f u to the extra money grab.

I just wasn't up for waiting considering I loved the last game so much.

Update - the Spider-Man traversal is so fun, I'm doing all the back packs and landmarks in one sitting. Clears the map as well, but wow.

What suit is everyone using at the moment?
