I always fucking sucked at real skateboarding, I have no desire to suck at video game skateboarding as well so I need the THPS power fantasy

Skate is good and THPS was good and will be good and there's not really that much point in comparing them given that they're not going for the same thing

In the first game, you pull off a 360-flip into a nose grind and land it and feel amazing when you pull it off clean

In the second game, you pull off a 45 second 234934590 point combo while button mashing and still feel nothing in your dead soul

The weirdest thing are people who are allegedly more into Skate than THPS only because it’s “more realistic” even though they never actually skated. That’s just odd to me lol

 

No sports game is realistic because it’s still just a fucking game, realistic is just code for tedious

 

I don't think it's odd, some people like the more grounded approach than how Tony Hawk got crazy with everything and how many impossible things can be done in it

Sure but grounded and “realistic feeling skateboarding” aren’t really the same to me. Maybe that’s just me.

 

I broke my arm skateboarding, more accurately I was standing on my skateboard and it somehow slipped out under me and I broke my arm, so what do I know lolol

 

Wii Sports Resort definitely is one of the most realistic sports games
