First person RDR2 is next level insanity tbh. Getting attacked by a bear in that mode is unpleasant to say the least.

Yeah from Arthur's tent at the main camp or if you set up a campfire out in the wild.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

    RDR2 was a slog

I get they wanted it to feel "authentic" but fuck, that game was so painfully slow to play most the time. I liked the story, but everything else was not fun

Loved RDR2 the week it came out and played it nonstop, every chance I got for maybe like five days. Got to the part where Arthur gets sick and haven’t played it again since. It sounds like such a chore to go back to it too. Still a great game, just not much replay value for me.

oh man it’s totally the opposite for me. Odyssey has grabbed me way harder out of the gate and I like the combat in Odyssey way more. But Origins was a really great game.

I feel like this is gonna turn into the Call of Duty situation from last gen, when it was the Infinity Ward games vs. the Treyarch games and the push-pull of which studio’s games were better. Like I'm almost more excited for what the Odyssey team does next as opposed to Valhalla, which is the Origins team. But either way I’m looking forward to the future of the series in general with both those teams at the helm.

I wonder when the next game will drop, next year or the year after? If they follow the same pattern as last time the Odyssey team will launch a game next year and then the series will take a year off. I’m assuming/hoping they’ll take the year off after Valhalla though, to really let that game’s DLC breathe like Odyssey’s was able to.

Damn, throwback. We had tons of those books when I was a kid. Loved those things.

Odyssey has also grabbed me, it just took a little longer. I definitely think that some of the side quest lines you find later in the game are more rewarding than anything in Origins for example. As far as the combat goes, I'm just a shield and sword guy. I'm the same in From Software games.

I've said it before but that 'painfully slow gameplay' as you describe it sometimes literally made me feel physically uncomfortable. I'm not just saying that to be a troll. I really, really hope GTA6 won't play like that.

Yeah I mean I also like plenty of slow games. That doesn't accurately describe what my problem is, but I can't really find better words either. The input lag is part of it too I think.

Walking around the camp is definitely just too slow though lol

The input lag is my only real flaw with RDR2. I don't even think they've patched it. Metro Exodus had some serious input lag on release, but it was patched like a week later. Lol.

You should be able to move more than 2mph in camp.

RDR2 does have fast travel good job Sanch. You could travel from your tent or the train station

We all know Sanch only pretends to play games

Yeah that’s not the fast travel I’m talking about.

When I played I could only travel from camp to a train station. That took forever to get to camp or a train station.
