If one were to play Unity today, in 2020, it would be an immensely enjoyable experience.

New to this thread! I'm not really a gamer, but I am so stoked for the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remasters! Anyone know if they'll eventually be out for Playstation 5? I really don't want to buy a PS4 just for that haha.

I started saving up to eventually get the Playstation 5 when that comes out/if I can get one. I'm extremely overdue for a new gaming system. I currently have an old xbox 360 and old Sega Genesis! haha. Before this I had the first Xbox, N64, and original Playstation. I loved that damn Playstation.

It's at least very likely that the PS4 version will be playable on PS5, even if it doesn't receive a visual upgrade or anything.

My biggest question about the PS4-to-PS5 jump is will all of my digital PS4 games just be able to be downloadable on PS5 on day one once I link my Playstation account. They better be.

That would be good enough for me.

They were they're talking about it makes it seem to me that it won't be a mandatory thing, although still widespread

But this technically falls into the realm of backwards compatibility. They said that PS5 is fully backwards compatible with PS4. So like, if I own Bloodborne on a disc, I can just pop that into my PS5 and play it on Day One. Similarly, if I own Bloodborne digitally, I should just be able to download it to my PS5 on Day One. Otherwise, all of our digital libraries aren't actually backwards compatible.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I feel like they hinted at not being able to guarantee that all games will actually be backwards compatible, though that might have changed by now

They clarified that there are certain games that may need to be fixed in some way to be backwards compatible but most games will be on day one. They have to keep testing, but as of March they had already tested the top 100 PS4 games and they all worked.

the top 100 or so ps4 games will be backwards compatible at launch everything else 3000 or 4000 games will all eventually become backwards compatible but they have to test each game individually

So like my issue is, for example, I own Dark Souls II digitally. Assuming that game is backwards compatible ready on day one, I should be able to go into the shop on PS5 and download it free of charge. Because otherwise digital games aren’t actually backwards compatible, only physical games.

they haven't said anything about that yet but it would be stupid to make everyone re buy games they have had for years. ive gone digital only so ill be hella pissed if i have to spend double the money and re buy the near 200 games i have

Are the going to do that work for those that don’t run or will publishers have to do it?

If it’s the latter, I wouldn’t count on it happening. That’s what I meant. In practice it probably won’t matter much though.

You’d adapt to the controller. I never really used a DualShock from 2003-2013 (was an Xbox gamber) and I got used to it fast.

yeah I mean I don’t see too many devs putting the time in to make it work if it’s not an easy fix
