Ue5 won’t even be out until mid 2021

 

That's fine. Launch titles almost always suck.

 

Thinking about those Xbox One launch titles :/

 

Games that are launch titles also wouldn’t be using that engine anyways lol

2021 will probably be a slow games year, with the transition to next gen, on top of everything happening now, work on those titles has more than likely grinded to a halt.

 

Knack 3 will not suck

 

We'll still be overwhelmed with jrpgs though so it doesn't matter

 

Using Unreal 4 will be just fine next gen too. Arkham Knight uses 3 and it looks pretty damn good.

 

I fully support a slow gaming year in 2021

 

Lol. Came here excited about the unreal demo and the usual suspects just yammer on about it being trash. It looks far more promising and substantial than any gameplay Xbox has put out thus far. Yes - it isn’t a game. But if THAT is capable on PS5 then we are seriously lucky as gamers and should be fucking excited. My god people. The potential is huge.

 

Today I learned that the first game to use the Unreal Engine was called Unreal

 

I think 2021 will be a huge gaming year. It almost has to be actually. They need to push the new consoles and Nintendo has to have something lined up to compete. Not that Nintendo really cares or plays by the standard rules anyway haha.

 

Maybe holiday 2021 will be big, but I think the first half is going to be super slow. Nintendo is Nintendo, who knows what they’ll do haha. First half next year would be perfect time for them to try and put some stuff out and keep the attention on them amidst the new consoles

 

2021 is expected to be a down year with everything shut down and motion cap and line reading not being able to be captured. A lot of the games that don’t have much of that done will be delayed. A lot of this years games where already done with all that and that’s why so much is still coming out.

I thought that was what started Unreal Tournament haha

 

Also slowly going to download FFX/X-2 while I make my way through VII, VIII and IX

 

I forgot that the PS4 Detroit game came from a PS4 tech demo, which goes to show everybody barking the same old ‘it’s only a tech demo’ can indeed be wrong I guess. I’m super excited about PS5 and its potential rn.

 

Yeah unless the world is very lucky then 2021 won't be a good year for entertainment

There will be fewer JRPGs too but they definitely won't be as affected as Western games

 

Yeah and I'm also talking about the 100 jrpgs in my backlog lol
