Mass Effect 1 is quite different and a lot slower and more clunky than the rest. I didn’t care much for 1 and fell in love with 2.

Yeah, I played the first couple of hours of it and nothing was really pulling me in at all so I stopped

There’s apparently a small, small team working on DA.

Yeah, I don’t fully blame the Andromeda team for the gasket. EA forced the Frostbite engine on them, which apparently is a pain in the ass to work with in non FPS games. Even though the DA team used it on Inquisition, I remember reading that the Andromeda team had to create all sorts of basic things that usually come standard in an engine (guess the DA team didn’t share their build of the engine).

If only they had used UE4....

But they definitely had leadership issues on that team for sure.

Inquisition has quite a few technical issues from what I’ve experienced so far, just really random frame rate drops in non intensive moments, bugs and glitches, etc. which I read is due to frostbite and them having to essentially build everything in the game from the ground up

That said I really wanna get into the DA universe but I dk if I have the time to go back and play the first two games, have they even been re released for current gen consoles or no? Otherwise I don’t have a way to play them anyway

I'm p sure you can play DA:O on Xbox One but not PS4, not sure about the second one though

Inquisition was just as much of a mess as Andromeda, but it was more fleshed out etc. It’s one of my favs of this gen. Like I said though, I very much enjoyed Andromeda too, it’s not amazing but it got shat on way too much.

ME2 is one of my fav games of all time, and 3 is very good despite the controversy. Was reallly bummed about the reviews of Andromeda so I never even played it :/. I’m sure it will be free on PS Plus down the road.

Also I’m a huge Inquisition stan. Loved the combat, and world design.

im really glad i picked DA:I back up. im pretty much back to where i got the first time i played it, and i never continued just because i started right before i moved to philly and was super busy and it kind of just fell by the wayside. the combat is fucking awesome, controlling a whole party is super satisfying and the first zone is huge and full of shit to do, really excited to get to more zones. the story is a little confusing since i know nothing about the lore and universe though, i need to do some research and figure out just whats going on.

ME2 is one of my faves too. Andromeda was not a bad game by any means, but also not what I expected a ME game in 2017 to be. Combat was great, just didn't have that spark that the others did.

What’s also most disappointing about Andromeda is the fact they kept coming to E3 every year showing literally nothing, but a tech demo for it. Then finally when it came out it was mired with bugs. Then they did the same thing with the cancelled SW game.....fuck EA.

Honestly if you like Inquisition and Mass Efect you’ll probably have fun with Andromeda

ME2 is probably a top 5 game of all time for me. It’s perfect. The whole trilogy really was special. The original was a mess but did so many great things that it was easy to overlook the flaws. I also didn’t really think the ending was AS bad as people thought.

I only made it like 10-15 hours into Andromeda. It was fun but it doesn’t capture the same magic. I’ll probably just start it over one day at this point.

It's definitely better than DA2 which isn't a bad game but after DA:O was a severe letdown. It was an improvement and I played it a few times. The landscapes and characters were stunning and I hope that DA4 expands on this (and hopefully the Grey Warden)

i hadn't even realized DA4 was announced until last night when looking up tips and stuff for beginners for DA:I. glad im finally getting around to it so i can anticipate DA4. like i said i doubt ill play the first two but i have been looking up videos and stuff of them. origins looks like it was crazy for 09, wish i would've been more into other RPG's back then but from like 2006-2011 i didn't care about anything besides world of warcraft.

Combat in DA:I is so fucking good. Together with the last two Xenoblade games it has the most satisfying non-shooter, non-turnbased RPG combat in the last decade. It feels so good.

To be honest, as good as Origins is/was; it just doesn't hold up to "new" RPGs. I probably wouldn't have as much fun replaying it now as I would have for sayings probably SotC but even look up the story summaries on YouTube, there's a good few videos out there that I can't link from work right now.

Origins is another game I started and got a decent way into and then just stopped for some reason. I have a thing where it's difficult for me to just jump to a game if I haven't played the ones before, which means I've been missing out on the Witcher 3 and DA:I because I keep intending to finish Witcher 2 and Origins. Now I'm sad.
