Keep in mind this is 3rd party, not first party titles. Not that it's a bad thing, just wanted to make sure people knew.

 

Did they say that outright or are you basing this on “global development partners”? Because that might just be clunky corporate speak lol

 

Was that stated, or just going off the language in the tweet? Phil Spencer’s recent tweet seemed to suggest more info on first party titles would be coining sooner rather than later, so unless you saw something I didn’t, I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or two sprinkled in here.

They really aren't. Their logo announcement alone, which was just the PS4 logo with a 5 instead, shattered Instagrams record for the most liked video game post ever. It had over 5 million while the Xbox Series X has only 1.8 million.

Sony has a dedicated fanbase who will buy their console regardless. They can slow drip information and then suddenly show the console and the launch games right next to each other because they know they have what people want. They have a massive amount of beloved first party franchises that people are clamoring for more of.

 

This. Absolutely are not bungling it at all lol. They have the fan base. They know what they’re doing.

 

Sony doesn't need a superior product to outsell the Series X. Nor do they need a superior marketing strategy. Playstation fans will buy the PS5 regardless if it's shit or not. But Sony should probably do better anyway. They're not like Microsoft. The gaming industry is a significant part of Sony's revenue. Microsoft could cancel the Xbox brand tomorrow and be more than fine.

 

Really seems like Sony is getting complacent after dominating the current generation. Very much getting shades of their approach to the PS3 right now, where they took a "screw it, they'll buy it anyway" approach and they failed miserably. They're holding back too much when they have a literal captive audience, and they're letting Microsoft take the lead on major announcements. They need to take this way more seriously than they currently are, especially after the backlash to the Cerny presentation last month.

 

The PS3 outsold the Xbox 360, so it wasn't much of a failure. But it certainly didn't live up to the PS2's sales.

Finished Trials of Mana, ton of fun, not very difficult on normal difficulty but really really scratched my classic JRPG itch. Couldn't be much happier with the game.

The final boss was really easy but I think I was just very over leveled.
