I had a great time with Bloodborne til I got to the first boss. Lol. Loved everything about the game though.

Guys. Kayama Zero on the Switch. Bloody awesome. Hotline Miami creators, wicked music, slowing down time mechanics, a samurai sword. Deflecting bullets. Wicked mechanics. Mental storyline and sound design. Gorgeous aesthetic. Love it. Literally as addictive as Hotline. Like FUCK yes. And when you slow down time it slows the music down too eeee it’s just so cool wtfff

Rocksteady hasn't announced what they are working on. And considering their last game came out in 2016 its rather surprising.

    Nope. That’s Avalanche Software.

I hope this game is great.

I remember first two HP movie tie in games were pretty fun on PS1 lol.

Anyways gonna restart AC Odyssey this weekend. Bought the gold edition when it launched and didn’t get far. I am bad with spending money on games day 1 just to ignore, but oh well I guess.

this all makes perfect sense but killing the same enemies at the first bonfire over and over is the kind of shit ive grown to really resent in games. it is its own form of progression for sure but it just feels bad to me personally. im totally game for hitting a game over here a few times per zone and being challenged but i just don't think this ones for me, as cool as it is

The first few HP games actually were decent action adventure games

I found DS3 significantly harder, more frustrating and unfairer than 2 and 1. I did not enjoy it because of that. I've said it before I love 2 the most because it had the best PVP.

Bloodborne was easier for me to get into imo and it taught me the basics about how those games flow. Now I'm on the Dark Souls series and doing alright.

Like Anthony, I am a From super fan so I encourage anyone whos giving the game a try to at least get to the Blacksmith in Undead Parish, between the first and second bosses. Thats the point for me that I went from 'this game is clunky and annoying' to 'this game fuckin rules' in the space of about a half hour. Looking up tips and ways to cheese enemies in the early game is super helpful as well.

That being said, it seems you just arent into it right now, which is cool too. This is more advice for some future time when you decide to give it another try.

Yeah I mean, if you're not down with practicing you're probably not going to ever get to the point where you're only experiencing a few deaths per zone. I'm not trying to be a dick either, I'm totally serious, the first time you play through one of these games you need to practice a ton. I restarted the game after making good progress into the first zone like three or four times before I finally settled on a character build path I wanted to follow and had enough practice to feel confident going forward. I didn't fully "get it" until like halfway through the game, at least.

But yeah it's ok if the games really aren't for you. I just never want people to give up on these games because of their steep learning curve and tough barrier to entry, because I truly believe that anyone can enjoy these games with enough time put in. And now is a great time to put the time in lol.

Yeah see I thought that DS2 was way more frustrating because of the loss of total HP on death and a bunch of the bosses being made artificially more difficult by the addition of annoying trash mobs and stuff (looking at you, Royal Rat Authority). In DS3, the only time I can recall being stuck on a boss, or stuck on anything really, was Yhorm the Giant, and that was just because I'm a dumb and it took me way too many deaths to figure out what you were supposed to do to beat him lol.

I always felt like DS3 had more ganking just within the levels, which to me kind of sabotages the beauty of DS combat

But who knows, maybe it’s all a time and place thing, maybe my mind wasn’t in the right place when DS3 came out

Honestly you may be right but I feel like I never noticed it personally. I should go back and play through it again at some point.

I also hated how in DS2 in the late-game zones there were so many damn cheap-ass enemies that would perfectly track your movements with their attacks to the point that dodge-rolling was essentially pointless unless you had pixel-perfect timing. The worst with that were those goddamn drakekeepers in the Dragon Aerie. Really annoyed the hell out of me.
