ive gotta take the loss here and accept that Dark Souls isn't for me. i wish i liked it so much. i know this is a "bad" opinion, but i wish i could turn down the difficulty because i love the world and tone so much and its a bummer i won't get to experience hardly any of it.

another game ive accepted isn't for me after another good try with all this quarantine time is Witcher III. i just don't like the combat or how Geralt feels to maneuver.

i really really want a dark fantasy game to play if anyone has suggestions. i guess the dark isn't mandatory but i don't want Dragon Quest kinda stuff rn either. considering Dragon's Dogma but idk if ill like that either ugh

it took me two years to finish Bloodborne because I rage quit after one of the bosses (I forget which one) and i didn’t play it for almost a year. And then when I picked it back up I blasted through it.

 

How far did you get?

 

Bloodbourne is a game that rewards patience and perseverance imo, just don’t give in

Something about Dark Souls never appealed to me to try it (granted I probably will eventually). Funny cuz I couldn't get into the Witcher either.

They’re less RPG-ish and the combat is a lot worse

 

The AC games always have like 14 studios working on them

 

I think DS should have an easy mode too even though I adored the first two the way they are. I never understood the people that are somehow against an easy mode.

Maybe try the new game by the Technomancer people, “GreedFall”. They’re more like AA games but some here, including me, happen to think they’re very good.

 

I’m still chugging along through Uncharted and like the exploration part of the games are fantastic.

Everything else about the game is so PS3 polished that if it wasn’t this franchise I probably quit tbh.

 

Playing through 4 myself and I’m blown away...probably some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen on PS4 ever.

 

that’s why I’m being more lenient on this game solely because I know it is a early PS3 standard game. I imagine Uncharted 4 would rule a bunch.

 

Yeah, I tried playing the first game remastered and couldn’t. I just didn’t enjoy how dated it felt. 2 and 3 are meant to be very good though

 

I have had so many glitches that actually made the game better because of the absurdity.

 

i know these are jokez but i actually own all of these games already because of deep sales and the "maybe one day" mentality lol. is II any easier to pick up? ive tried Bloodborne and it was slightly less frustrating but honestly i just don't enjoy getting my ass whooped by a game much anymore

in Dark Souls i am still getting through Firelink Shrine. i keep getting deeper and deeper, but dying and then doing the same shit again just doesn't appeal to me. i get why others love it but when i play a game for two hours and an hour and a half of it is redoing the same stretch plus a little progress it just feels bad to me

i was very interested in Greedfall when the pods were talking about it around release - that's a good call ill look into it. another one ive been mulling over is Kingdom Come Deliverance

 

That is a good, interesting game that is clearly being held together duct tape and prayers. I don't know if you have an Xbox, but it is on GamePass.
