I just got to Chapter 4 and I am kinda losing steam with it. The game design is tired for sure.

 

RDR2 feels more like the Rockstar that made GTAIV's realistic, immersive, but sometimes boring Liberty City than the Rockstar that made GTAV's zany, comical Los Santos. Personally, might be my favorite game of all time, but there's definitely some bloat and outdated design in there. I think it might be intentional on Rockstar's part. They definitely wanted players to ride everywhere and take in the scenery, story, but I totally get why people are calling it outdated.

 

They did it intentionally, and that’s fine, but they didn’t make it actually feel good to move around, unlike say BotW. Just my opinion of course.

Just finished Return of the Obra Dinn

It's certainly not without its flaws -- would've loved a built in way to give unidentified crew members aliases so I could more easily keep track of what events happened with the same guy. There were a few times I had a choice narrowed down to only a couple options and was able to brute force it which felt a little cheap (which I guess is my fault, but after playing for an hour with no real progress and really wanting to confirm my previous two deductions were right its way too tempting). But there were also a couple of times where it was hard to determine the real cause of death and I had to guess between a couple of options until it said I was right.

But for something so unique and different... all those flaws are very minor. Can't expect someone to get everything completely perfect the first time around. Its still absolutely a must play for anyone who likes puzzles/detective work or just enjoys novel gaming experiences and I hope we see more similar games in the future.

 

at least the horses in rdr2 handle better than roach

 

Everything in RD2 is great. I just think it sits more 8-9 range than 10s all around. GoW is my GOTY for reference.

 

My game of the generation is Mario Odyssey.

I haven’t been a huge gamer and played games like GTA or Skyrim for years, since I don’t have time to invest, so Nintendo has been my go-to for games. With that being said, I can spend hours in the huge world Odyssey has with all the stuff to do and collect.

 

My top 3 for this gen is Persona 5(shocking, right), Bloodborne and Witcher 3

 

I dont love Breath of the Wild

 

My fave 3D Mario game is Sunshine

Twitch being dummies and having it be an ad before other streamers is hilariously awful.

 

For a bit there i thought Ninja's popularity was dying down but he seems larger than ever right now lol

 

twitch and Red Bull constantly promote him and add the fact celebrities are constantly jumping in his stream brought a whole new hype level.

 

also I bought cuphead and I’m using my $25 gift card at game stop to buy Witcher 3 complete edition when it does it’s monthly sale.
