Code Veronica is the only correct answer for the next RE remake. CV is the black sheep of the franchise imo, it’s difficulty curve and game design makes it frustrating to play, parts of its story could use some work (looking at you, Steve), and it’s largely been ignored outside of the fanbase, which even there it’s decisive. RE4 is a fantastic game but let’s be real here, it really doesn’t need a remake at the moment. The true triumph of the current remakes is that they take what makes the OG games great and refine to much better experiences so if any other RE title could benefit from this approach, it’s CV hands down

how hard would it be for them to just make a really great new one with everything they learned from the 2 & 3 remakes

that being said I’m also down for 4 remake

 

Which is why it should be remade. It bridges Claire’s and Chris’ story, introduces Wesker as the superpowered bad dude he became loved for, it goes further into Umbrella and expands on just how big their operation was in the scheme of things and so on. Like if the one hand is to remake the fan favorites, than the other hand should be to give a game another chance and let the good parts shine through a better designed and thought out game, and that’s what CV needs.

 

Plus, I’m not playing an RE4 remake unless they make Saddler less of a cartoonish villain, ditch Salazar all together and replace him with a much better character, make Ashley not as absolutely useless and annoying, cut down on the castle section by like a quarter, ditch the goody radio sections, and above all, ditch the minecart section.

 

If they change a single line of saddler or salazar dialogue I will riot lol. Game’s cheesiness is part of what makes it great for me.

 

I think the opposite of that and think it’s rather cringe but nevertheless, I can see that point of view too so no hate.

the remakes really haven't slowed down the Output of the new entries so far so I'm all for them.

 

RE8 seems like it’s definitely coming next year so yeah I’d say the remakes haven’t really interfered at all. It’s actually kind of shocking that they’ve put out two full remakes and now another mainline game is about to drop next year.

 

I want Resident Evil Outbreak because the zombies were cool. My nostalgia for it lies entirely with the front cover being awesome. I don’t think I was very good at it and barely touched the game.

The menu theme and all the track themes are forever etched into my head hahaaa.

I avoid all the extra characters from Nitro Kart and fucking Spyro etc (I cant stand Spyro soz) because they don’t belong there at all and it sharts over my nostalgia haha. Same with the customisation. I appreciate why it’s there for online players but in single player which is where I’m at (local mp too obvs) I only ever use the default karts haha.
