I don’t play a lot of current games these days but honestly I miss the secret character aspect. I don’t know if games still do that but I remember thinking it was pretty cool back then.

 

Secret characters are dead and DLC killed them.

If a series has very similar games, like for example Splatoon or Gears, I either picked my favourite or the one I played more.

EDIT: GTA5 is underrated too. I cut is last minute because I ran out of spots on the list. Halo 5 came close too, as did Super Mario 3D Land and Final Fantasy 15. Consider them honorable mentions.

Right, those aren't overlooked, but in my opinion are currently underrated. Even if they might still be pretty highly rated.

I had GTA 5 on there for the longest time for the same reason, but I wanted to add another game without going above 50. It was between it and Skyrim when it came to cutting and I think Skyrim gets more shit now. Halo 5 came close too, as did some others (see the edit in the list post).

 

I agree to an extent they are underrated but I also know circles that talk very highly of them. But a very good list of games.

The Darkness 2 could have been better if they left out the multiplayer I think.

 

I honestly didn't remember it had a multiplayer

 

That’s how forgettable and dead in the water it was.

 

Some of those are definitely not underrated or overlooked haha, but it's a good list.

I 100% agree that ReCore was a sleeper hit that is a fantastic game. It just had a rocky start so people threw it in the trash. With a couple of patches it turned into an amazing game.

 

Yeah I picked the definitive edition on purpose, haha. Same goes for Sleeping Dogs.

 

Anyway, please all play Jazzpunk, Golf Story and Attack of the Friday Monsters.
