Right and I don't disagree with any of this, all I'm saying is that for biggest disappointment of the decade, I think it's fair to factor in what became of each game during the decade. And Destiny 1 (and Destiny 2) both became really good games despite not launching as really good games. Mass Effect 3's ending still sucks.

 

Max Payne 3 rules. Such a incredible, unjustly forgotten gem.

 

The late gen curse. They should have ported it to current gen

 

It already looked good enough to be current gen launch title lol

 

I understand that many want the gta and rdr gameplay controls to move forward

 

So here's a confession I should make: I've never actually finished a GTA game. The furthest I got into one was San Andreas, but I never actually finished it. Never played 1-3 or Vice City. GTA4 was unplayable to me because of the driving physics and I never even picked up GTA5. Is 5 worth picking up next time it's on sale?

 

I wanted to play max payne 3 again so many times cant believe its not bc what an amazing game tho

 

gta4 was the only one Ive ever finished but it pretty much ended up being a masterpiece as far as games go

I think 5, especially the remaster, is a really good game, especially in first person.

 

GTA 5 had best gameplay but GTA 4 had best story

 

Which metrics? It's not the worst-reviewed game of the decade, it's not even the worst-reviewed hyped game of the decade, and it sold a ton and continues to sell a ton/make money. I don't think if you polled a sampling of people it wouldn't even be in the top three most disappointing games of the decade. I think Pokémon Sword & Shield might be higher in that poll than Destiny.

 

Biggest disappointment for me is Fallout 4 because I bought the collectors edition that comes with a Pip-Boy you can wear on your wrist and it’s this massively ugly hunk of plastic. I think I messed around with the app once and then it just sat in my room forever. It also came in an ugly giant plastic box that just takes up space. And of course the game itself was an ugly mess.

I've almost started re-playing Max Payne 3 at several points this year lol

 

most disappointing game =/= worst game

the game was supposed to be for the broadest demographic imaginable and its ALOT less popular than that

the games release was an event and ALOT of people were dissapointed and moved on

 

I know, and that's true, but all I'm saying is that it doesn't seem like it would rank as the biggest disappointment of the decade, especially considering how good it got. People moved on, and that's kind of the point. The disappointment didn't linger like it did for, say, ME3.

 

Destiny is the most disappointing game of the decade, but also the Vault of Glass is the best singular piece of gaming I have done this decade.

It is weird like that.

 

idk what the last game i played was where i was straight disappointed. i buy maybe two games on launch a year so i usually have more than enough time to see how the review cycle goes for any given game and make a pretty informed decision

EDIT Ni No Kuni II. that's the biggest disappointment for me.

 

Pokemon is feeling pretty disappointing now, but that's only after 130 hours of a good time with it. i do however think im pretty much done with it and i dont want to be done with it, so im disappointed in that specific sense

 

Pokemon Sun/Moon were huge let downs for me

 

See, I really enjoyed The Division 1 but the second one? That one was a total waste of time, I regretted buying that.
