It does look like that is bordering on Xbox One size haha, I'm not sure if I would like that or not if I was a PS person

 

That's the old one isn't it? The one that was just announced today has the standard USB adapter I think?

 

It's the new one.

 

Can't link cause I'm on my phone, but the video the official PlayStation Twitter feed posted has a USB-C adapter as the first feature listed, plus totally different box art, plus it's called Nancon 2.

Edit: That article is from June. The new one was announced today and is due for release in September.

 

I posted what was reviewed and showed up on my twitter feed. They said it was the newest controller revealed. If you have something else, I can't speak to that. It's only available in Europe anyway and is likely what SONY Europe had been teasing.

The general consensus is it was supposed to be a much more linear/short immersive kind of experience like Journey, but the devs felt pressure to add in some real awful exploration bits to appeal to a wider demo. Feels so tacked on.

I played a bootleg version of Shenmue on the Dreamcast that wasn't released...I'm not sure if it was Shenmue II or III. I'm guessing it was II.

This game looks like it's still on the Dreamcast though.

I've been wanting a Ninja/Japanese style game ala Ninja Gaiden for next gen. Then I remembered I haven't played Nioh yet.

 

it's core component - the story - is super bad, just full of plot holes, cliches, red herrings, bad pacing, unclear connective tissue, and absolutely no emotional resonance. and then the rest of the stuff - audio/voice, animations, implementation of controls - is mediocre to downright shit (the soundtrack, while great, is mixed so badly with dialogue it's literally unlistenable at points).

i've never liked david cage - people think of him as pretentious, but frankly, i don't even care about that; i just think the stories he writes are, like, middle school level, and then the games/interactive films that he implements them into don't display a good grasp of what makes a meaningful or even playable experience.

i'll have more thoughts on my podcast, but that won't be pushed live for a month or two. i'll probably ping the channel when it does go up.

 

Would anyone be interested in a "DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT Closed Beta code" for PS4? I got one in my email but I don't recall signing up for this, and when I looked at the gameplay it doesn't look like a game I'd be interested in playing. Maybe I got it because of some other purchase/pre-order?

Call me crazy but I think they migh actually be turning ReCore into a cool game rather than a just proof of concept, I'll probably pick up that defintive edition for 20$
