Is that you don't like it or you aren't good? Lol! I think that is what turns a lot of people off from it but once you master it, it totally makes sense.

I'm okay at it, I played a lot of games that copies it, but I'm not great at it and I also just don't like it even when I'm doing well haha

I totally get it but I think the Arkham games have set a new standard for combat besides your traditional fighting games of course and you are right that many games have copied it since. Games off the top of my head are Ryse and Shadow of Mordor.

Yeah I just like Zelda and its hardcore child Dark Souls much more in terms of third person combat

The thing I hate about games that do Arkham's combat is for some reason they always feel it necessary to move the counter button. Maybe so it's not exactly the same as Arkham? Anyway Arkham had it perfect with triangle/Y.

Dark Souls combat is basically 3D Zelda combat cranked all the way up. I like that style of combat much more than the Batman-style combat when it comes to 3rd person games.

I don't know if I would ever compare the combat in the Arkham games to that of Dark Souls/Zelda. We are talking about a hybrid of fighting games versus actual weapon combat. Yes, they are all third person but that is where the similarities end (for me anyway).

Also, I don't know who is going to come after you first: The Dark Souls Fans or the Zelda Fans for even mentioning them in the same breath, lol!

I feel like Batman-combat is almost a rhytmn game, where as Dark Souls/Zelda is more... mechanical.

Also, Dark Souls combat is a lot like the combat in some Zelda games, only more nuanced and harder. It's definitely very Zelda inspired. I'm pretty sure they talked about this too.

Yes and no with Batman. As someone who is pretty proficient in the combat, I would say it's more about taking your time and visualizing the next move as opposed to button smashing.

In regards to the comparison between Dark Souls and Zelda, I'll take your word for it as I have not played the last few Zeldas as it would pretty much be the only reason to own a WiiU/Switch and I'm not buying a console for one game at this point.

  11. I'm always trying to do as much of the side quests as I can whenever they become available before moving on to the main story. Just took down Professor Pyg and Deacon Blackfire. Even as someone who doesn't follow the comics, I can appreciate the more obscure references to things I know nothing about, but the payoffs for these quests were so weird and unsatisfying, especially the Pyg one because it had such a cool build-up. I don't know, I guess it's cool that even on a night like this the Bat has time to deal with even these smaller criminals, and they kind of just add to how strange a place Gotham is. I kind of feel like I'm just looking for more things to complain about at this point, haha.

I don't like the Batman combat because I find it too easy. It just gets boring to me.

Also I think Zelda and Dark Souls fans have a ton of overlap and I can absolutely see the comparison. They're probably my two favourite series.

To me it's quite clear that Dark Souls is largely inspired by Metroid, Castlevania and Zelda. It takes different elements from those games, puts its own spin on them and combines them into something beautiful.

I have never heard the combat in Batman described as "easy". I would say the games that have attempted to try and recreate the combat are far easier than Batman.

It's that time again, endless Persona spinoff time! Three spinoffs were announced today.

First up, two sequels to Dancing All Night: Persona 3 Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5 Dancing Sun Night. Out for PS4 and Vita in Spring 2018 (in Japan)

Additionally, Persona Q 2 was announced for 3DS but no trailer yet. Here's a site: Persona Q2 Please Wait for Next Information! , so at least we can assume that the Persona 5 cast is part of the game (which, no shit).

I'd rather have more Shin Megami Tensai games.

PS4 version numbers are impressive, much closer to the 3DS's than I thought they'd be, that's like a 20% PS4 attach rate right off the bat hah. Reading impressions of the Japanese version have made me even more impatient, I want my new DQ.

It's because in Japan many gamers buy platforms because of the promise of Dragon Quest, haha. I'm sure it helped the PS4 over there. I assume after a year the 3DS version will be ahead by quite a large amount though because of the install base.

What's the difficulty supposed to be like? One of the biggest issues I've always had with those games in how easy they are.
As long as they bring them over here, I'll play em all.
