    Play the Yakuza series

Playing Infinite Warfare properly and it's nearly not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The campaign seems promising in the first half hour I've played, the zombies are such dumb and campy fun, the multiplayer seems more futuristic but not that far off of the last few years anyway.

CoD games are never as bad and never as good as both the haters and stans make it out to be

Until I play more of the campaign the zombies are definitely the most entertaining thing about it. I get why some people aren't fans of the approach it took but I mean, it pulls it off so well in its presentation of it, like Dead Rising.

I thought Extinction was a way better game mode than Zombies has ever been.

  5. I still don't think I understand this game. I saw it earlier this year at PAX, and I was under the impression that it's basically a sports game? I know there's some form of singleplayer as well, but is there actually a traditional story w/ character development etc? Mind giving a brief run-down (without spoilers)?

It's a fantasy sports rpg with visual novel chapters in between the games

The game is primarily a sort of visual novel RPG, making choices along the way and picking new destinations from a map as it automatically travels (think Banner Saga, if you're familiar). You gather a party, gain experience and unique abilities for each character, get items, etc, but the "battles" in the game are sports matches instead of traditional battles. It starts out as A LOT of story compared to sports, probably a good 80% text but as the game goes on the matches also get more frequent.

I am excited RE: Revelations is getting remastered and coming to ONE/PS4 next month. I never got to play it when it originally came out.

Been bouncing between Fallout Shelter and Assassin's Creed Black Flag lately. Black Flag is such a refreshing game, love the sea combat (which I thought I'd hate) and the combat is a lot smoother.

Fallout Shelter is...losing me but I'm so close to 100% on achievements...

  15. Arkham Knight is the least interesting part of Arkham Knight. If he ends up being Jason Todd I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Scarecrow is pretty cool, but even in death it seems like the Joker is always being forced into a main antagonist role.
Really sad about Ivy, but like, in a good way.
Arkham City was better at intertwining all the villains into the main storyline. I've taken down Two Face, Penguin, Firefly, and Azrael so far and those were all side quests. Also, I just really miss roaming with Catwoman. I'm guessing that's more of an end-game sort of deal with this one. I do enjoy the little bits where I can switch to her, Robin, or Nightwing mid-fight.

As of today, I 100%'d three games in a week that are pretty easy completions. One that takes 30 minutes actually! I figured I would post them here for any people looking for a break in some of the longer games they are playing. These are nice pallet cleansers.

Blackwood Crossing: Point and Click and RIYL TT Games, Life is Strange. I gave it a 3/5 and it takes about 6-8 hours.

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek: It's and Artifex Mundi game so you know what you are getting into. RIYL Picture Finder/Sherlock Holmes. I gave it a 2.5/5 just because some of the picture puzzles are a little sketchy, especially on the hardest difficulty. It takes about 6-8 hours.

Energy Cycle: This one was actually really fun and can be challenging if you really want to play it legit. If you get frustrated, there are plenty of guides out there. If you are looking for quickest completion, it can take as little as 30 minutes! The music was great if you like electronic/EDM. RIYL puzzle games. I gave it a 4/5.

  17. Yyyup, Arkham Knight is Jason Todd. Aaand Barbara's alive. If I really think about it, Jason Todd was actually a pretty poignant choice for the Arkham Knight, what with Bruce trying to guide Dick and protect Tim and "failing" to protect Barbara. And yeah, the whole being infected with Joker virus thing is that much more interesting when juxtaposed with how Jason is also a result of the Joker. I just wish Arkham Knight didn't sound like a kid having a temper tantrum the entire time. (I know he's going through some really fucked up trauma, and I sympathize, I really do, but it's like, Lucifer in Supernatural was the same way in some scenes, except they didn't overplay it.) And I was also hoping Joker wouldn't play such a big role in this series for once. My gripes with the story aside, this game is such a fucking blast to play, even the Batmobile bits! ...Sometimes. Welp, I just dropped Barbara off at the GCPD, soI'm guessing I have just a little bit of main story left to play through. I'll probably post a proper review once I finish, but I'm having a looot of mixed feelings about this game.

The .hack//GU collection will not only be a remaster/collection of the previous three games but also contain a new episode, vol. 4.

  19. I've started Stories: The Path of Destinies as my next game and it's a lot of fun. almost like a current gen Bastion (although not quite that good).

I'm sure your review is going to be a bit predictable based upon your comments. With that being said, it seems you are not alone and I can somewhat agree that Rocksteady was losing a bit of steam when they were making this game while at the same time, tried to incorporate a little TOO much and lost focus of what made the first two in the series so memorable.

  23. I think Arkham Knight is a great game and personally, I really liked the story. That said, City is the pinnacle of the series for me.

I played Arkham City and liked it well enough but I personally don't see the hype. Maybe it's different for Batman fans but imo it's just a good (not great) open world game. I don't like the combat at all thiugh so that doesn't help I guess.
