Loving all the Life Is Strange love in this thread the last couple of days. I still listen to this playlist all the time.

 

I enjoyed Infamous Second Son a lot. You'd have to watch some gameplay though and see if it's your type of game.

 

Bloodborne is an absolute must
Yakuza 0 is a perfect introduction to the crazy, silly, wonderful Yazuka series
Persona 5 if JRPGs are your thing (and the series often wins over people even if they're not)
Nier Automata is my favorite game of the year with one of the most insane stories I've ever seen in a game, plus some good Platinum action gameplay doesn't hurt

 

Can I play Persona 5 without playing any other one?

 

Yeah, each game is a different set of characters.

Thanks for the recs. Just looked up Persona and it looks pretty great. I'm familiar with Bloodborne although Ive never played it. I'll be sure to pick it up. :)

 

Sweet, I'll have to check it out. The series looks pretty cool and I've yet to try it so I'll jump on it.

 

Between Persona and Zelda I assume I won't be trying out any new games for a while cuz I'm sure both will take forever

I back all of these. Bloodborne is my favourite game of all time so especially that one. Also The Last Guardian, Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, Gravity Rush, Ratchet and Clank, Horizon: Zero Dawn, the PS4 has a lot of great exclusives.

Zelda can be as short as 40 hours and as long as 120 hours, but every minute of it will be glorious

 

I have been watching waaaaay to much of Polygon's PUBG stream. cannot wait for this to come to Xbox.

 

Never got into FF. But I might have to check out R&C!

 

Players Unknowns Battlegrounds isn't very well optimized at the moment, but it is hella fun.

I had a very successful weekend in gaming—finished SOMA and played episode 1 of Life Is Strange. SOMA's ending is wild and it's definitely a story that makes you have to stop and think about a lot of things, but horror games stress me the fuck out, haha. Life Is Strange is awesome so far and very much my jam.

 

Is FFXV the only Final Fantasy that's not turned based and has an open world on the PS4?

 

you should give XIV a shot. it's one of the better MMORPGs around these days, and definitely an open world.

I also beat SOMA this weekend. Such a great and thought provoking game. It gave me chills a few times during.
