We are so far past that point though.

 

The reason why I think a lot of people disliked Bioshock 2 was that the story was nowhere near as good as in Bioshock 1. The Minerva's Den story is so incredible, though, that if it had been stretched to full game length and had been the plot of Bioshock 2 instead of what we got, I think Bioshock 2 would be remember a lot more fondly. Also, Bioshock 2's gameplay was better than Bioshock 1's because you could dual-wield plasmids in one hand and weapons in the other, among other changes. I loved Minerva's Den.

That very much depends on the companies doing the acquiring. In many cases it is the only way for studios to survive because they make games that can only be viable within a larger portfolio of games (Phil Spencer of Microsoft has recently talked about the importance of story focused, single player games even if they are "only" loss leaders, for example). Vivendi is a media conglomerate though. Even that would not have to be a problem depending on the company, it's just that Vivendi has a bad track record when it comes to stuff like this. The whole thing becomes even worse because Ubisoft is such a big force and more or less of structural importance for the AAA game industry, which is already in a weird, transitional phase. Vivendi killing off or crippling Ubisoft, which given their track record is a fear people have, would be very disrupting.

 

I'm pretty early on into Episode 1, but Life is Strange is already one of the most interesting games I've ever played. Max's anxiety is just so relatable, I feel like I'm playing as a real person

 

Take your time and enjoy the slow moments. It's so good.

 

I guess I was not early on in the episode because I just finished it. So good, real excited to dive deeper into this

 

Yeah listen to Lightning. It does everything a sequel should improving on literally everything. If you liked the first you are guaranteed to love it. I'm also super impressed with the way it runs and the graphics, like the foliage and water effects are absolutely stunning. Also my new favorite thing to do is hacking cars and causing chaos, it's a ridiculously fun addition to the sandbox.

 

Picked up Prey today since it was on sale at Target. Just passed as far as the demo lets you progress.

 

I played about 2 hours of Prey last night and I'm loving it.

 

Played through it myself and despite some flaws I found it enjoyable throughout.

 

Man, episode 2 is really strong too.

The issue with Kate at the end was real rough. It seemed like I was getting her back at the end, but I realized that I hadn't spent enough time speaking with her to be able to save her. The game is so conversation heavy, and it forces you to learn everyones backstories. Nathan Prescott is a bad dude, but also feel like I'm going to learn so much more about the character that makes him the way he is. Though it could just be that he's a rich kid that has never been told no before.

Smite typically pairs you with people at a similar skill level as you. It's not a very good system because it always fail.

Today I've been having the worst luck with my teammates and the builds they use and I wanted to break my controller. I had a bunch of noobies in multiple games and I was like WHYYY

Enjoying Prey a lot. Got to about the middle of the Detour mission before calling it quits for the night.

 

I feel you, had a game earlier on arena where we lost by around 300 tickets. Our kills compared to theirs was around 6-49. I went 2-3-4 while someone went 0-13-0. It was a rough day.

 

Life is Strange was such a special experience to me for so many reasons. Love that game. I could honestly leave the menu music on repeat for hours, it's so beautiful.

 

I finally got around to finishing it last weekend. Super solid game, really enjoyed it.

 

Sweet, I've heard good things about the ending and I'm all in on the story and it's multiple mysteries.

 

thank goodness I had new music to listen to because mad max play through is feeling like a DRAG

 

Gonna preorder a boat load of games today.
