I heard Bloodborne has p bad clipping/framerate issues. Is it one of those things that dumb purists overblow or is it really that noticeable?

I honestly think playing them in the order they were released is a good idea, personally. Having Bloodborne between DS2 and DS3 works almost like a really good change of pace. It's also the best one. They also sped up the gameplay a bit in DS3 based on what they did with Bloodborne. I still think DS2 is the most difficult game in the series, though, so I don't know if you want to do it second.

That stuff is overblown, the game is gorgeous and I remember it running really well. Even if there were issues, the game was so good that I never noticed enough for it to affect my enjoyment.

Yeah I had no issues at all. It was a rare slice of perfection in life.

That...is a horrible take. For every Two Towers or Return of the King there were 100 pieces of rushed shovelware garbage movie tie-ins to sift through. The death of AAA movie tie-in games has been a great thing for the industry. And good movie-licensed games still get made (Alien: Isolation, the LEGO games, etc.), they just aren't tied to an impending release and required to make you play through the plot of a film you just watched.

Also if "accessibility to younger audiences" is a concern, play a damn Nintendo game ffs lol at least those are actually good games.

God damn The Towers and Return of the King were so fun. I loved The Third Age as well.

My game budget for the rest of the year is going to be seriously strained between wanting Splatoon 2, Metroid: Samus Returns, Cuphead, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Assassin's Creed Origins, Ni No Kuni 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Crackdown 3. That's $510 if I buy all of those, and I'm probably not going to because of that haha.

Luckily, I already completely paid off Destiny 2 in April, and I did the same for South Park: The Fractured But Whole like a year ago before the delays. So it's kind of like I'm getting those two games for free considering my past self is the one who paid for them!

Anyway, my must-buys are Metroid, Mario, Xenoblade, Assassin's Creed, and Ni No Kuni 2. Everything else is going to be case-by-case. Will probably be able to get at least one as a birthday gift from my fiance (my birthday is October 26, the day before Mario and Assassin's Creed launch), so that'll help.

Why did you have to add all that up. Why. Now I feel like an idiot... but I'm still not gonna change anything lol. May be broke but I'll never be bored.

Not to be a dick but it might even be more than that haha. I assumed Cuphead would cost $20 and Battle Chasers would cost $30 but I could be wrong.

Edit: So, Cuphead is actually $25, not $20, but Battle Chasers is also actually $25, not $30, so the price is the same haha. Also, I didn't include tax ugh.

I don't even want to think about how many games I'm going to buy the rest of this year.

Huh. At least I'm going to be seeing Manchester Orchestra and Tegan and Sara this year.

My backlog is too big to justify buying anything that I won't play right away anyway.

Are you ordering on Prime? That 20% adds up fast, although I don't think the collector's editions count anymore. On Amazon, I have preordered:
    - Splatoon 2
    - Assassin's Creed Origins Gold
    - Far Cry 5 Gold
    - Dragon Ball FighterZ
    - Skyrim Switch
    - Mario + Rabbid
    - MH World
    - Mario Odyssey
    - Rime
    - Xenoblade 2
    - Pokken DX
    - Yoshi

$780 retail. Prime discount brings it down to $624. Will probably be able to ask the old lady for a couple of these for September bday and Christmas. Hoping that will bring me down to 500. Not counting ARMS tomorrow. Plus some of these are 2018 to lessen the blow lol

I was just adding up $60 for the console games and $40 for Metroid. I usually get my stuff from GameStop and in NJ sales tax is around 7%. Also I'm not counting Far Cry or Yoshi yet because that's next year haha

Assassins Creed doesn't have to be a must buy. I'd wait a few weeks after launch before buying it.

As a big fan of the series since day one, it's a must-buy for me. It's fine if it's not for you, though!

I think my must buy list is like splatoon 2, PUBG(console) and Mario + Rabbids.

Everything else I'll probably wait until price drops.

Stuff like AC:O and Wolfenstein are games I'm pretty excited for but will wait for because they will almost certainly be $40 or less on Black Friday (and also come out the same day as Mario Odyssey so it's not like I'd play them on release anyway)

Most of my biggest wants are first party Nintendo titles, and waiting for price drops on those is waiting for a cold day in hell.

Not going to. Contrary to the franchise's reputation, only two of the games (3 and Unity) have launched with any kind of debilitating technical issues, and the last game in the franchise, Syndicate, was one of the best. With the extra development time, I'd be very surprised if this game had any of those problems. And, even if the reviews say it does, I'll just wait to play it like I did with Unity.

I was at Walmart the other day and I still saw wii games for like $30.

    It was amazing.

Third Age is my shit. I've done multiple playthroughs of it and never got bored of it. Fighting Nazgul, playing as the Witch King or playing as Sauron's forces (think it was called evil mode) were always fun. It was not until Shadow of Mordor that another great LOTR game was made imo

If there was a great LOTR game in between, I must have missed it, because I agree.
