I am 100% of the Sony point of view on backwards compatibility. I've genuinely heard it used as a selling point for the One, and I don't get it at all.

 

Have you tried it?

 

Tried what, playing older games on a new console? That's what I don't get the appeal of. I have no interest in that at all. I get that it's cool for people who are in a position to utilize it, but I think it's weird to go after Sony for saying it's not a priority at all.

 

It's the fact that they talked badly of it. It's fine to say it's not a priority and yes, it is a selling point for the ONE. It's a nice additional feature to be able to play your previously purchased digital content on a current gen.

 

I love the fact that I don't need my 360 anymore and I can just download the games off the one.

I've been playing quite a few games I never had the chance to.

 

Microsoft is doing this thing where if you watch their mixer stream, you have a chance to get Rare Replay.

I just got it and I'm like heck yeah.

 

They just gave me another game and DLC for forza horizon. This is amazing.

 

Scroll down to the bottom and look for the MixPot. You should get all of it.

 

I can't even remember the Sony quotes on BC, but they didn't jump out at me as being rude or aggressive.

I also am not sure how much work goes into getting the BC program up and sustained on the One. If that was a large chunk of time and energy devoted, I wouldn't be pleased as a customer.

To each their own though, it's a move that was damn near demanded by the public,and has been released and sustained to plenty of fan fare. Very much do not my cup of tea, and I appreciate that it hasn't been a focus of Sony's.

Sounding good, will take any Monster Hunter I can get now. Only played Generations but I'm hooked.

 

It's a famous trend here that people (different monster hunter groups) meet up in malls, coffee shops and other hubs to play Monster Hunter locally and socialize.

I'm pretty sure a number of those people would not be so happy with the transition to home consoles.

 

Yeah I can totally see that and why people might be upset we're definitely getting this with no announcement of the handheld game yet. Personally, I only ever played the game at home and online so it makes no real difference for me if it's on a handheld or a console. I'd still like MHXX to come over though...

 

Same for me. The last company I worked with also had MH players so it was fun to play during breaks but I mostly either solo or do online runs.

 

Wait what, the dude basically said "no one wants to play those old ugly games", which is factualy wrong and insults so many people at once I don't even want to start naming them. That is the problem, not the fact that they don't have backwards compatibility.

To be fair he was talking in regards to Gran Turismo and I don't see why anyone would really want to go back and play the old GT games if you're a fan of racing sims. Driving mechanics and physics are so much better now.

 

So this streams your pc games to your console? That's cool, shame my laptop can't run shit lol

 

People say that but that's way too generous because GT was just an example he used to clarify his statement that nobody wants to play old, "ugly" games. GT is a dumb example to use anyway and he knows this. Nobody wants backwards compatibility play FIFA09 either, that's not the point.

 

Did you guys notice that Yoshi is an Unreal Engine game? Nintendo games made with Unreal are thing now

 

Either way, Jim Ryan puts his foot in his mouth way too much and is not a good voice for SONY or PlayStation.

I'm speaking in regards to BC and Cross Platform play.

I'm not thrilled about Ni No Kuni 2's combat.

 

I can't get past Ni No Kuni removing familiars. Not only was it a core gameplay mechanic, it doesn't make any sense why the world would just be void of them now. Did they... die? Is this a prequel? Alternate kingdom? Idek
