It stripped out a lot of features that have been in those games since like 3, like flatland tricks and so on, which made the whole trick system feel shallow and straight up bad. The timing to everything was off, too. Also, there was no instant restart, it instead loaded in and out, which took way too long and destroyed the whole TH gameplay loop. The levels were straight up bad, it was impossible to get a good flow going. There was no real mission design to speak off. It's also buggy as shit. It's just bad in every way.

I am ok with this, Nick. They're my top 3 as well. I would switch Brotherhood and 2 but otherwise yeah, lol

Sk8land is a cool game right, I've never seen someone else that played it haha

I'm right there with you both, although my ranking would be 2 > Syndicate > Brotherhood

Whatever the order, there really isn't any credible argument that these aren't the three best games the franchise has to offer, though.

That PSN 9-day sale is pretty cool, I might actually get Horizon: Zero Dawn for $40.

I would argue that Revelations should be on that list. It essentially was an extension of Brotherhood and it's sad because it ended the story of both Ezio and Altair. I think the lack of those characters is part of what caused a decline in the franchise. A lot of people had latched onto them and their connection to Desmond.

Just finished Walking Dead S3. Enjoyed it a lot overall, like I do every Telltale game, but this was by far the weakest season, which seems to be the general consensus. Ending felt very sudden (though that may just be because the endings of the first two seasons absolutely devastated me lol), and wasn't a big fan of how a few of the plot points in the last episode played out. Definitely enjoyed it a lot overall though and I really liked the new characters.

I hope the next season we play as Clementine again though. The "Clementine's Story Will Continue" screen at the end seems to imply this

I don't like Brotherhood as much as most people seem to but I remember really not liking Revelations. I was super sick of Ezio by the end of that game. I'm sure it doesn't hold up now but the first one is still my second favourite based on how much I enjoyed it when it came out.

I think AC is very subjective in general and you could go on for days about the pros and cons of each entry in the series.

I personally think 3 had the most uninteresting protagonist.

Yeah I can agree. If you waited and played Unity after all the bugs were patched out like I did, it was actually a pretty solid game with a great protagonist and a super compelling setting.

    My thoughts on EA's conference:

Story modes in sports games are cool. All these games have become too deep for me though.

Need For Speed looks really good. The Burnout vibes are really doing it for me. I really want that game to be good and I have high hopes.

A Way Out has a cool style and could be great. If it's good it might be my Christmas break co-op game.

Anthem definitely looks it is inspired by... some other current franchises. I'll probably have more to say after Microsoft's conference. Bioware makes great games.

I love Battlefield. Fuck their season pass model.

Why can't they just make more NBA Jam? You know, the EA basketball games that are actually really fucking good? Maybe that "Streets" part of the game will be cool, but I doubt it because it's still NBA Live.

Battlefront looks cool. I'm not a huge fan of FPS campaigns and I'm more into Battlefield than Battlefront when it comes to multiplayer (though they seem to be improving it - the prequel maps look so pretty and the flying looks great) but this story mode might still do it for me because it's fucking Star Wars and it's beautiful. I'll probably wait for a sale though because I'll be playing Destiny 2 in the fall. I'm happy EA finally seems to understand that selling multiplayer maps is bad for their games because it's hurting Battlefield. Some more thoughts: 1. The Force Is Strong With Play Station" is the worst co-marketing slogan ever, haha. 2. If you don't love John Boyega we can't be friends. 3. Janina Gavankar is cool as fuck. She also shows that professionals are better on a stage than influencers. 4. I wish NBA VS Star Wars was a game.

The pacing of the conference was horrible. There was way too much multiplayer gameplay footage. They should really show that stuff in a separate stream or whatever. Also, no more "influencers" please. That stuff is so bad. Awkward developers and CEOs are bad enough but at least those guys make and release the games.
