I think I'm gonna pick up Persona 5 and pre-order FF XII.

 

Holy shit that Crash Bandicoot remake wasn't even on my radar but I just saw that half hour gameplay demo and now I'm fully sold

 

Didn't realize how scummy Activision was with this fucking game.

 

F13 is awesome, 0 fucks given about bugs/server issues/imbalance. It's fun as balls.

 

15% completion in mad max with nearly 5 hours of play time so that is cool.

 

I'm gonna try to beat the order 1886 today. Apparently it's real short so I should be able to do it

 

It was the first game I bought when I got my Pro back in the winter. Pretty fun, visually great, and very short. I beat it the second day.

 

Great game. If you want to Platinum it, use a guide for the collectibles.

 

I managed to escape with the car once last night. I was so pumped, but I haven't had much luck since

 

The glitches actually create some good laughs. I had a counselor stuck in my hand for a solid 5 minutes where I just danced around the map and took her for a walk before somebody finally came and hit me with a machete to let her go.

I've had less luck as a counselor, but as Jason i've had relatively good stats and get at least 6/8 every time.

 

I got stuck in a locker my second game and ended up being the only survivor. My friend got stuck in a tent and ended up being suspended over Crystal Lake. Only one with Jason and I managed to kill everyone.


They were supposed to fix some of the issues with server maintenance this morning and they're going after matchmaking next.

 

I had no problems joining games, I DID however have the problem where my level/CP was 0.

 

That should be fixed now

 

Yeah my level stayed at 1 or 0 I guess I should say, but when I went back to play later it was fixed.

 

Interesting article but I fully disagree. I still believe the Last of Us is the best game ever made. It has everything, atmosphere, suspense, gameplay, graphics, multiplayer, but what really puts it above everything else in my mind is the story. What happens to Joel at the end, and how it makes you question what you are doing while controlling him is powerful. What this guy also fails to mention is that you are invested in video games. You invest hours of time and not only are you visually attached to the game, but emotionally and physically. You might pick up bits of the past and the story is pieced together in a linear fashion, but you are in control of collecting and comprehending it. With a movie you sit idle by and have no sense of control.

I agree with his main point, that story in video games is weak, but it's definitely improving and hopefully continues.

 

Her Story is my go to in terms of interesting story that is only interesting as a result of the mechanics of gameplay.

 

He's not saying that games like that don't exist though

 

Since I paid to renew my PS+ for the first time in like 2 years so I can play Overwatch, I went back and downloaded Infamous: First Light. I'm having fun with it. I have all those games and haven't played any of them until now

 

For me I'd say one example of a game with good story that didn't compromise on gameplay is Portal 2.

I've been saying it over and over before, but I love how you can ignore the dialogue for most of the game and just treat it as a first person puzzle, but those who want immersion will stand next to Wheatley and GlaDos for minutes a time just to hear that dry wit. Game also did a great job at designing the levels, when you start going further and further into the deep dark secrets of Aperture Science.

The bit with Wheatley trying to debug a computer is still one of the funniest things.

 

Had a much better night with Friday the 13th. Running a lot smoother now and the entire lobby had mics so there was fun banter back and forth.

 

Apparently Life is strange is one of the ps+ games in June. If anyone hasn't played this yet be sure to jump on that as it's outstanding. Other than maybe Last of us, I don't think a games hit me as hard emotionally as Life is strange.

 

Somehow wasn't expecting Pyre so soon. Very excited.

 

Bioshock collection is $25 right now. Ended up getting it for free with my rewards points. YEAH
